I had a mild interest in the collective theories surrounding December 21, 2012 and associated rare galactic alignments and possible natural catastrophes that could result. I also have an interest in preparing for potential economic upheaval/inflation and preparedness/food storage. So when I found this book, I thought it would be worth a read. The author tells us she has conducted research on previously written/published research on materials dealing with December 21, 2012 including natural disasters worthy of our advance preparation for survival. I expected minimally a summary, collation or synthesis of information - instead what you get is an ebook (no publisher involved to edit/improve/direct). Sorry to say, unlike other reviewers, I did not find Ms. Abraham's work to be "thoughtfully researched". Nearly the entire work is a compilation of radio show topics/discussion summaries from Coast to Coast, an AM radio show that "deals with UFO's, strange occurrences, life after death, and other unexplained (and often unexplicable) phenomena. Coast to Coast AM is overnight talk radio...", hyperlinks to youtube.com copyright excerpts of History Channel, Discovery, etc. which have long since been removed, out of context and perspective of cut/paste FAQs and Q&A from NOAH, NASA, etc. to name a few. This amateur attempt to capsulize astronomical concepts into sensationalized snippets that are pathetically naive and uninformed is misleading and frankly difficult to read. When she started embracing metaphysical mumbo jumbo of the likes of Edgar Cayce I had enough! If the book wasn't on my Kindle,I would have thrown it in the trash...I would have been much better off and $9.99 richer had I only Googled December 12, 2012 instead I would have found "Will the world end in 2012?Read more ›

I have always been curious about the "end of the world" possibility when I first heard about the Mayan calendar date of 2012. This book provides loads of scientific information that shows the many possibilities of how our world will change. Ignoring the possible outcomes doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Too many people will be caught off guard by a "new world" and will not know how to cope with the changes. I am definitely one who prefers to plan and be prepared. The research done on preparedness is phenomenal! The preparedness plan takes you beyond simple food storage into how to prepare yourself financially and emotionally. There are even ideas on how to include the family. This book has now become my new planner! I would highly recommend this book for everyone!

Upon receiving book, I was put off by layout of book and font used with pages full to very edge of every page. HOWEVER, it only took a few pages to realize that this is a very unique and usefull book!
"2012 Survival Guide" is very engaging and full of useful information with tons of websites to obtain more data on topic discussed.
Best of all, in the most unexpected places, author Crystal Abrahams is incrediably amusing. The humor in this very serious book is well worth the cost of the book. Financial preparations, political background info, what to buy and not buy, as well as dealing with all age ranges is most valuable. Discussion of all disasters: weather, tornadoes, flooding tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and especially the uncoming 2012 problems of power, water and food shortages. Includes things to do in the fall of 2012, possible solutions to uncoming catastrophes, what everyone can do to prepare in advance and after the event. It is definally a serious book, fresh, packed with indepth information on our upcoming world wide problems, but includes numerous and wonderfully funny ways of looking at very serious problems.
A MUST READ & WORTH EVERY PENNY .... buy it !!!!

Could this book be any more redundant? Rambling on from chapter to chapter, I would ask myself "did I just read that in the last chapter". I enjoyed the first 1/2 of the book and have made some changes in preparedness. Then the book became more of the same with to much conspiracy and way too political. The show Coast to Coast must have been referred to 250 times or more. As I read more I started losing confidence in the author and the material sources. I am currently to page 325 and don't even know if I will finish it.
