From cover-to-cover, this is an action-packed, blow-by-blow comprehensive tour de force, an exceptional intellectual achievement, of the physical and metaphysical facts, and the misguided fictions, swirling around the meaning of the highly-controversial Mayan Calendar(s) End-Date: December 21, 2012.

Indeed, I felt so strongly that Geoff Stray was a critical-thinker and truth teller on this topic that I quoted him in the Author's Note to the Second Edition of my book Tranceformers: Shamans of the 21st Century - Second Edition Revised and Updated for 2012 with respect to my own conclusion that we are clearly and beyond a reasonable doubt in the early stages of a galactic-level event--a solar and earth "polar magnetic reversal":

"In fact, my concern--a pole shift--needs our close scrutiny, what Geoff Stray explored at length in Beyond 2012: Catastrophe or Awakening?: A Complete Guide to End-of-Time Predictions: 'Every 13,000 years Earth goes through one of these naked singularities [a magnetic surge], which he sees as a merging of dimensions, but also thinks a 23-degree axis shift of the Earth, [a return] back to its position [within Galactic Center] perpendicular to the ecliptic [path of the Sun in the sky] will happen ... sometime around 2012," writes Bob Buck in his essay Awakening to the Omega Point.'"

Nonetheless, as an astute scholar Stray does not stray, pardon the pun, far from the central focus of the facts that John Major Jenkins made known to us in The 2012 Story: The Myths, Fallacies, and Truth Behind the Most Intriguing Date in History, in as much as, he likewise shares:

*How the early Maya devised the calendar that gives us the cycle ending in 2012 and how it works.
*How the ancient calendar was rediscovered in modern times.
*How the 2012 idea has been interpreted--and misinterpreted--by professional scholars, spiritual impresarios, and popular culture.
*What key controversies and enigmas surround the concept.
*How we can cut through all the noise about 2012 and gain true wisdom from Maya teachings about our present moment in history.

Now in a recent article published in New Dawn Magazine titled "Beyond 2012 Catastrophe or Awakening?" Geoff Stray comes to the same conclusions that I have from evaluating the evidence for the past two decades (1988-2009):

Geoff Stray is like a walking, talking 2012 database! Speaking of database, his website [...] is the best 2012 site out there!!!

This was a real waste of money. - The doom and gloom industry including the 2012 Mayan so- called predictions are simply a money-making racket designed to prey on the gullable. If they have the effect of depressing the markets in 2012 I will make money on the inevitable rebound.
