I found this book easy to read, easy to follow and found in the hospitals. Good to know nurses on the floor are using this and its not just a book our instructors told us to check out. IT is actually used! Works for me. I hate that its so expensive but I'd rather go with up to date when it involved drugs. Buy current. Resist the urge to go older/cheaper. I did that with one of my drug books, bad decision, had to keep borrowing others text books to look up current things that just weren't found in my book.

The section on compatibility in drugs is very confusing and hard to follow. I really don't love this book and think it could have been more user friendly.

so much better than trying to search through the davis drug guide for IV compatibility when you are in a hurry

Bought as a required text in my RN program. Too bad it was never used in the class. The drugs are arranged by generic name and gives you all the information you need about the drug: popular trade names, class, dosage for all age group, dose adjustments, compatibility, interactions, antidotes, etc... As a nurse I don't expect to know and administer all the medications out there. But I see to it that I know my medications before I give it. If it's an IV drug I've never given before I look it up in the drug guide at the nurse's station then when I go home I look it up in this handbook. I'm pretty old school and like to flip through the pages rather than looking information up through my phone.

Great information for the drugs class and preparation. It's just hard getting to them on the Kindle. Wish there was a better way to search!

I have used for years. One of best direct iv references for pharmacists and nurses, especially if away from the computer such as a pharmacist on call.

It's easy to find the information you need to safely administer intravenous medications. It's a major time saver compared to online references. So far, the recommendations are in alignment with my hospital/pharmacy policy.

I bought this because my 2004 edition was beat up from all the use between our small ICU and ER. I love the alphabetical listing along the edges for quickly finding a med in an emergency. Drug compatibilities and incompatibilities, recommended doses - very helpful. This is our IV drug "bible" for work!
