This is a must-buy for Texas Longhorn football fans! Wadlington, Gerlach and Chilton have compiled an in-depth, yet fully comprehensible (and entertaining) analysis of the 2014 edition of Longhorn football in this year's release of Thinking Texas Football. This e-book is particularly helpful in its coverage of newly-hired head coach Charlie Strong, his new coaching staff, and Strong's approach to restoring Texas football to elite status. Coverage also includes previews of the Horns' offense, defense, special teams, key personnel and coaches, and upcoming opponents. The analysis is written on an expert level, yet it's fully comprehensible to the average fan. All football-related information is up-to-the-minute, and not based on data gathered in the Spring (which printed football publications tend to rely on). If you're a Longhorn fan, do yourself a huge favor, and buy/download this e-book!

That is the passionate, high-information fan's standard for UT football commentary and one that is rarely met by the mainstream press. That standard has been met brilliantly by the 2014 Longhorn Football Prospectus. Barking Carnival bloggers Wadlington, Chilton and Gerlach also take commonly known details and synthesize them into new insights. They not only connect the dots but use them to paint a clear picture of what to look for on the field this fall. Analysis of OC Shawn Watson's quarterback development, OL coach Joe Wickline's blocking schemes, and the coaching of the defensive backfield by committee stand out. Hard-core Texas football fans: do yourselves a favor and check it out.

I am an avid football fan and Longhorn rooter and this book grabbed my attention and held it. I found it to be informative, if obtuse at times, and funny as hell. It is certainly not your average sports writing. I do love sarcasm and creative metaphors, and this book has those features in spades. Think Henny Youngman crossed with Don Rickles with a touch of Grantland Rice and Kern Tips thrown in.

A great primer for the 2014 Texas football season, required for anyone who deems themselves a serious fan of Texas football and wants to appreciate the upcoming season on a deeper level.

More more useful to a Texas football fan than the similarly priced tomes from Dave Campbell or Phil Steele.

An amazing look into the team's prospects for the upcoming season, with a level of analysis and depth not found anywhere on mainstream sports sites. Highly recommended for not only Longhorn fans by any follower of the Big 12!

Excellent next level analysis of the 2014 Texas Longhorns. This book is the Tuscan Milk of college football companion readers. Well done!
