GE 14016 65-Watt R40 Soft White R40 Flood Light Bulb. Use original GE's Soft White when you need a light without glare and harsh shadows. Replace ordinary light bulbs with GE Flood and Spotlight in all your track and recessed lighting fixtures. Application: Indoor spot and floodlight with 5-Inch wide fixtures. Base: Medium screw (E26). Bulb Type: BR40. Initial Lumens: 730. GE incandescent lamps represents the state of the art of lamps for residential and commercial use, as well as special purpose lamps for decorative or display applications. In an incandescent lamp, light is generated by heating the filament to incandescence. The hotter the filament, the more efficient it is in converting electricity to light. However, when the filament operates hotter, its life is shortened so the design of each lamp is a balance between efficiency and life. This is why lamps of equal-Wattage may have different lumen ratings and different life ratings. Incandescent lamps of similar size are commonly available with different-Wattage ratings. The fixture-Wattage limit should not be exceeded.

The information on this product was sparse and when I received it I discovered it was not a bulb that produces light that plants need. Rather it filters out blue light and doing so makes the plant look good. Disappointed.

This was pretty falsely advertised This light merely adds a nice atmosphere but does not really help the plant to grow.

The first one blew out in 2 minutes. I returned it and got a replacement and it has burned out. It is a snowy day and my seedlings need light. Now I look at the package and read, and research and find out this is called a plant light and sold next to seed starting products BUT it is not a GROW light. Even the package says: it makes plant look greener with its blue tint. GREAT. I want healty growing plants not articificical green appearance for 14.99 plus tax. Save your money and get something that says: provides FULL SPECTRUM OF DAYLIGHT if you are trying to grow anything.
