If you want to have higher image quality that this monitor was, in my opinion, intended for, then definitely use DVI.

Gary P.s. the other reason people wish this monitor had instructions, is the control buttons are very difficult to find and completely unmarked.

Acer phone support got me straightened out so support gets a 7 out of 10 but the user interface on this machine gets a 1 and the docs get a 1.

This monitor went great with my new desktop, I'm not a techie-person so I'm happy that setting it up wasn't a problem. Was shipped in the time as expected and the monitor was in great condition. Thanks!

I purchased this just for a little Linux box in a shop room. I also got a cheap wall mount to install it with. got it here for $129 with free Prime shipping

I may have been looking at too many different ones but I swore this had VESA mounts on it.

IT DOES NOT HAVE VESA MOUNT HOLES

so if you ever want to mount this monitor with a VESA mount, it wont work

I had to make a metal frame for the back to mount the wall mount to so I didn't have to return it

It came out OK and it is just for a messy shop

but the picture looks fine and works well with Ubuntu linux so far, no resolution problems with the AMD Geode powered motherboard and onboard graphics

I'm not exactly sure why everyone else seem to not like this product. Maybe its just me but it was a pretty simple plug and play. If you cannot find the buttons for the power/adjustments maybe you shouldn't be using computers. I've used a similar model to this for about a year and some change and it works just fine. This one has the "LED" technology that makes the contrast far superior than the older model I've been using. Also, I would recommend opting for the supplied DVI versus the VGA for your cable installment on your PC. Think of VGA as composite. If you want to have higher image quality that this monitor was, in my opinion, intended for, then definitely use DVI. Compared to other LCD 20" monitors on the market, this one ranks high up there for me. Especially for the price range. Even at full retail, I would rather spend that extra $20 for this one than the low back lit standard hp/dell garbage monitors. Also, for those complaining about documents, it does come with a disc containing user manuals and a printed "quick guide" for the dummies.

The actual design of the monitor is slick but lacks where it really needs it. One downside is the adjustment buttons are underneath the monitor so it's kind of difficult to know exactly what option you are adjusting but w/ all new electronics these days, it seems people don't like having buttons on the actual face of the device.

This is a monitor for people on a budget. You're not going to get Cadillac features and performance from a Yugo. It does what it needs to do, albeit not exactly great but you get what you're paying for. This is a bare bones type monitor. You have an on/off switch, some buttons for color adjustments (which don't really seem to actually work) and you can't even adjust the position of the monitor after it's been attached to the base. There are way better monitors out there on the market so if you don't need extra features and on a budget, then this is the monitor for you. If you are in the market for a new monitor and can get this under $100, grab it. But if you notice this being sold for the MSRP of $130 or whatever it is, pass this over and buy something else. Now lets just see if this monitor lives longer than 1 year.
