From Library Journal
This handsome volume documents a recent exhibition (March-May 1989) held at the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. Drawing from the museum's impressive collection, Klotz has assembled what amounts to an international survey of 20th-century architecture in drawings, models, books, and furniture. While the book contains work by such proven masters as Wright, Kahn, and Le Corbusier, it focuses on lesser-known designers, including Bela Kadar, Koloman Moser, and Rob Krier. Each illustration is fully annotated, complete with bibliographic references. An introductory essay by the author provides a concise overview of the major trends in 20th-century architecture. A useful reference for serious students of architecture.
