4.0 out of 5 stars At Last, The Gorgeous Olivia Newton-John On DVD March 2, 2004
Format:DVD
This has been a long time coming. But alas, Hip-O Records is releasing several Olivia music videos on DVD. Olivia has been a pioneer for music video. Her 1981 television special "Physical" was revolutionary. She was the first artist to make a video album. Meaning every song on the album was made into a music video and released as an hour long prime time television event. The 1981 video collection was a huge best seller, as was the album and single of the same name.
Here in this DVD collection, we get the obligatory video of "Physical". Also included are video tracks from her earlier smash hit album "Totally Hot". The videos from the 1978 album are very rare and make this DVD worth the purchase. You must see Olivia in these videos still riding high from her GREASE success and looking simply beautiful.
I must say this is a wonderful collection even if it is only 5 songs. Hopefully there will be more Olivia video releases to follow.
The Tracks are as follows:
Physical
Heart Attack
Deeper Than The Night
Totally Hot
A Little More Love

4.0 out of 5 stars Woo-Hoo!! TOTALLY HOT May 20, 2004
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Only five videos ... but like Alanis Morrissette named a recent album: FEAST ON SCRAPS!!
This DVD brought back such good memories. Olivia was da bomb back in the 80's. For a few years after GREASE, she was riding high. My sister had all her albums and I listened, too!
I'm so excited to see the TOTALLY HOT video. This song rocks! I'm partial to anything with horns in the arrangement ... and Olivia's "dance break" in the middle of the song is fantastic. Nobody can strut in pumps like Olivia can. (Trivia: Are those the same black GREASE pants that she had to be sewn into??)
I forgot how fun PHYSICAL was. And the muscle dudes in speedos are ... hot.
HEART ATTACK is cheesy ... but I'm not complaining. Cheesy is fun (just rent XANADU, one of my favorites!).
I'm not sure if Olivia made any more videos --- I seem to remember a sexy vid a few years later with fire and Olivia in a bed with two muscle dudes walking toward her -- but these are a lot of fun and bring back lots of fond memories.
"So hot / totally hot / you got to me!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Have Video Collection June 30, 2005
By KMM
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Dennis DeYoung became a reluctant solo artist in 1984, after the break-up of his band, Styx.

These videos reflect songs from his three solo albums from the 1980's. Besides having a stellar, one-of-a-kind voice, Dennis proved he was very ready for his close-up on video.

The standout is "Desert Moon", which was a top ten single and one of the most popular videos on MTV in 1984. It mirrors the reflective, you-can't-go-home-again theme of the song. And, of course, there is the famous red Mustang.

"Don't Wait For Heroes" has some of the trademark wacky humor of DeYoung, plus an interesting story and it is just a great song on its own.

"Call Me" is a moody, atmospheric set piece using the paintings of American artist Edward Hopper as inspiration for its theme of loneliness and its muted tones of red and green. Again, a great, soulful Dennis DeYoung song.

"Boomchild" is a wild, effects-filled look at the whole Baby Boom generation. It is chock full of boomer references and it is fun just to watch and pick them all out. As clever a video as was ever on MTV/VH1. Again, Dennis looks great, and the song is filled with themes that resonate today. I do not think there has been a better summation of the whole boomer experience than the lyrics in this song.

A standout video collection. A must-have if you are any kind of Classic Styx fan or enjoy the work of Dennis DeYoung.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steve Earle when he was fresh-faced and young August 5, 2005
Format:DVD
These five clips were made during Steve Earle's brief flirtation with major label success, when MCA Records thought highly enough of him to shoot some videos and send 'em out to the TV folks. It includes one of his biggest hits, "Guitar Town," as well as "Someday," "Nowhere Road," "Copperhead Road" and "I Ain't Never Satisfied," which retells the old Robert Johnson legend, of a man who sold his soul ot the devil in order to become a guitar legend. For the most part, these videos are pretty low-budget and by-the-numbers, but what's cool is seeing Earle as a young Nashville outsider, before he moved into his biker-ish, leather-clad outlaw persona... He's so fresh-faced and earnest... and so young! Fans will want to watch him back then, to remember when he was bright-eyed and idealistic... This is a modest video package, but the material is really nice.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wish it would have been done right... February 6, 2004
By A Customer
Format:DVD
I know I shouldn't argue over an inexpensive title like this, but considering that this offers only 5 of the band's videos (Wildest Dreams, Other Side of Life, Running of Love, I Know You're Out There, and No More Lies), it dashes this fan's hopes that we will ever see a true, proper Video Collection by one of the greatest bands of all time. Most hardcore fans know that there are rare music videos for the songs Blue World and Sitting at the Wheel, and an even rarer, mostly unseen 1991 video for Say It With Love which is really sweet and SHOULD be included on this disc. All 5 of these videos are readily available on either the LEGEND OF A BAND DVD or the official Fan Club VHS that's been out for years. Someone missed the boat. What we really need is a full set of all the available videos, even at full price, which I have a good feeling Moody Blues fans would be willing to pay. This is a wasted effort...

1.0 out of 5 stars Unusable for dj business.
I bought this by mistake thinking it was the cd rather than the dvd. I operate a dj business, and the product war copy protected, not allowing me to convert to a usable format.
