It doesn't surprise me that this compilation is physically out of print as covers only four albums of different material (most coming from gregg Allman's solo debut, "Laid Back"). This serves as a nice companion to AB's "A Decade of Hits..." and their 20th Century Masters compilation (other than the re-appearance of "Melissa" on this one) as it covers 1973-1977 where the AB comps cover 1969-1973 & 1979. This is compilation covers Gregg Allman's solo debut album, "Laid Back" where 5 of the 8 songs are represented here along with the Allman Brother's recording of "Melissa" before that (which is also on many of AB's compilations). There is also a live version of "Dreams" from The Gregg Allman Tour in '74 and then this compilation finishes off with 3 out of the 9 tracks from Gregg Allman Band's debut, "Playin' Up a Storm" from 1977. If you like many of the songs here and maybe don't want to buy "Laid Back" and "Playin' Up a Storm" then go for this one, especially if you own one of the AB compilations listed above but otherwise go for the more comprehensive "One More Silver Dollar: The Solo Years 1973-1997" and or just buy "Laid Back" and "Playin' Up a Storm".

There are a few tracks on this album that I really don't like, some are tolerable, and then there are the songs that make up for any imperfections. You know, the ones that make the CD worth 15 bucks. They chose to represent Gregg here with one of his finest Allman Bros. tracks, a chick-friendly, piano-driven love song, a live track, and then those wonderful, laid-back songs that I favor. Gregg Allman is nothing if not southern and extremely laid-back, and that's just the way I like his music.
Standout Tracks: Melissa, These Days, Multi-Colored Lady

The selection of songs are top of the line, also "Those millinnium collections CDs'" are supposed to be RE-Masterd from the studio tapes. However, this is supposed Gregg Allman, not the bros ... I'm no Angel and other solo album selections, other than just from Laid Back would make this a 10 Star CD.
