Fantastic Band from the 80's Deserves Better Reviews,
By Bob G. "Stock Market Advantage" (Tampa, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
Cinderella was an incredible heavy metal band with a hint of the blues. Tom Keifer's singing stands up there with the best such as Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. How he gets his voice to make that harsh guttural sound is a mystery to me, but it definitely works. The musicianship of the other band members is excellent. The song writing is also top-notch. I saw Cinderella in concert with Bon Jovi a long time ago and they were one of the best live acts I've ever witnessed. There are some great songs that were not included on this compilation that could have replaced the weaker efforts such as 'Shelter Me' and 'Love's Got Me Doing Time,' but you can't have everything.

A decent hits album,
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
The Millennium collections are pretty good discs with remastered sound. The edition for Cinderella, is a good example. Cinderella was one of the best 80's classic metal bands. They were influenced by Aerosmith, and it shows. The vocals sound very similer to the raspy singing of Nazareth. Blues and Zeppelin hard rock dominate the music. Like Great White, Cinderella was one 80's band that had musical talent, and that was the main attraction, not their looks.

"Glam" but Classic,
By A Customer
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
While this is a collection of their best hit singles, there were a few that were missing, especially "Back Home Again", which to those who prefer the harder edge of Heavy Metal, the omission of this song is rather disappointing. However, the album does catch the essence of the band, who although presented itself as a Hard Rock band people labeled them as a Glam Rock band. Glamour and big hair was their signature look, but this was one of the few "Glam Rock" bands who actually had talent. Their bluesy-hard edge was a little ahead of their time, but all-in-all they earned the right to be called Classic.

Pretty much the same as Once upon a.....,
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
It has all the songs from their other greatest hits album, except this one has bas attitude shuffle, the "Once upon a..." cd has songs that this one doesnt like The More Things Change, and Through the Rain. I recommend buying either cd, bot not both. And the best Cinderella greatest hits Cd is "Bad Attitude", it is an import from England, but it has 17 tracks. Cinderella Rocks!!!!!!

Cinderella rules,

This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
This album has some of there hits, and there sound is very cool. They are a bluesy rock band, cool guitar riffs a well as some slide guitar. Some people can't stand Tom Keifer's voice, but he has a raspy rockin' voice where I think he would do ACDC covers well. They probley where the best talented band from all the glam hair bands, and they do rock.

You Don't KNow What YOu've Got Until It's GOne!,
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
Cinderella was one of the big hair bands in the 1980s and 1990s. It was never as popular as other groups. I was pleasantly surprised by their other songs besides my personal favorite and it's biggest hit, You Don't KNow What You've Got Until It's GOne. The leading voice and the music is typical of the music of it's time. These were the ballad groups where the songs were long but the message was about love and relationships.

Only A Taste,
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
If you're searching for the quintessential Cinderella collection, this ain't it. If you just want the #1's or the 1's most popular, you've pretty much got 'em right here. This was an impulse-buy as I was rebuilding my Metal collection; just something to get my fix until I eventually bought all of their CD's and threw away the old cassettes. I'll give this one three stars for effort though.

THIS ONE COULD BE BETTER,

This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
Very good music and band, sadly this cd only last 55 minutes when technology allows to hold 80 minutes,NO value-add, there are a lot of great songs that could be added, adding songs such as: Night songs, Push, push, more from "still Climbing" album songs could do a diferent and good product (road still long, Blood from Stone, All comes donw, etc).
May be adding the songs from "Still Climbing" album, spliting them on the still-on-print 3 albums can do a different and value-add albums, remastering and adding some b-sides or unreleased. This way old music on a diferent way and on NEW format could get new fans and better selling levles

I like what this album is - a good cross section of Cinderella's best known stuff, and for that it's good. There is a lot though that is "missing" from what could have been a "GREATEST HITS" ... and other reviewers have listed the "missing" tracks. None the less, this CD regularly finds itself on my player and I never grow sick of it. That said, it's not the first CD I would buy if I lost my collection, but it sure as hell wouldn't be last on the list either.

Horible Attempt At A Greatest Hits CD,
By
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
This CD SUCKS even for casual listieners. There are so many good songe missing like Push Push,Nothing For Nothing,Night Songs,Hell On Wheels. If your looking for classic Cinderella hair metal get there first album Night Songs. Its got some of the best hair metal there is.If your looking for somthing softer more in the Whitesnake cataory get there second album Long Cold Winter. There third alubum is weird its country/blues.Now I personally like the album and I think it shows the diversity of Tom Keifer's voice but if you like Cinderella for there metal you probably won't like this record.People always complain about the fct that there music changed but hey if they hadn't hanged they wouldn't still be around. When glam died they just turned around and did rock ballad stuff when that failed they tried blues. You have to respect them for there diversity.I am disspaonted bacause in most casese 20th Century Masters is a good collection for casual listieners but not this time. There Cinderelld video dvd is ok but I would still buy the original vhs tapes Night Songs the videos. Its got all the videos.Rare stuff.Skip this CD and go album by album
