5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin Country, November 24, 2002
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection- The Best of Marty Stuart (Audio CD)
I like all kinds of American music. Jazz, Blues, Rock, Fusion etc. and I also like good country.

This is good country. It is clean, tasty, great musicianship and it rocks. Put it in the box and pump up the volume.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hillbilly rock at it's best, July 5, 2003

If you like Marty Stuart, this is the record for you. All the songs are great. You can't beat Marty for first rate guitar and mandolin playing - he is a Master. He cares about his music and its shows in his work. Great vocals, great guitar and great country music, you can't ask for any more than that.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to Marty Stuart, September 7, 2009

I am not a long-time fan of Country music. I have gradually been driven to appreciate Country thanks to the trends of modern rock n' roll. There are very few gifted musicians playing rock anymore thanks to grunge, punk, metal and rap. That is why I have been forced to look to country for instrumental virtuosity, singing and songwriting. Marty Stuart has all of these virtues in spades. This album is an excellent primer on Marty's career, and best of all, he kinda reminds me of Skynyrd!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get This Marty Stuart "Greatest Hits" CD!, July 10, 2011

This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection- The Best of Marty Stuart (Audio CD)
I bought this CD as a gift to my father, who wanted a "greatest hits" CD of Marty Stuart. Since one has not been put out on the market yet, this CD from Universal Music's "20th Century Masters" series currently acts as a substitute, since it covers most of his career. Marty Stuart is one of the great contemporary Country music artists, who got his start in his teens playing alongside the late Keith Whitley in the mid-1970s as a teenager, and toured with his idol, Johnny Cash. He eventually went solo in the 1980s, where this CD begins. The biggest songs on this CD are "Hillbilly Rock" and "Now That's Country". Marty Stuart's music is very "family-friendly", and I highly recommend buying this Marty Stuart CD.
