5.0 out of 5 stars I love Ready for the World!! But there will always be haters
I have always been a fan of Ready for the World from the start. Every song was a hit for me. My favorite was "love you down, Whose is it, tonight and so many more." I just hate to hear haters like the review before me of Mike Patterson. There are several artist that may sound like someone else or have similar lyrics.....but in the music business it comes down to who gets...

3.0 out of 5 stars When Trying To Be Like Prince Goes Good and Bad
If you say ''Hey, do you like Ready For The World?'' most people will say ''who?''. They have long been forggotten and to be honest died (music wise) in the 80's . . . early 80's! Yet, there greatest hits collection is pretty good. I really found myself liking songs like Long Time Coming, Straight Down to Business, and Ceramic Girl. Along with the classics Oh Sheila and...

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Ready for the World!! But there will always be haters, January 3, 2005
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)

I just hate to hear haters like the review before me of Mike Patterson. There are several artist that may sound like someone else or have similar lyrics.....but in the music business it comes down to who gets the break and who doesn't. Well, I have never heard of Mike Patterson and probably never will. Ready for the World had their fame and they could be back you never know. JUST QUIT HATING.........Lay back and enjoy the music - cause you know its good.

This is a must have CD for anyone who enjoyed Ready for the World's 80s hits. As someone who owned RFTWs tapes (yes...back in the day when you bought either LPs or tapes!), I was very happy to come across this greatest hits collection. It really does have all the RFTW songs that you could possibly want.

This cd bought back so many memories from my jr. high days! Especially "oh sheila" which quickly became my theme song since my name is so close to Sheila! This is the sexiest cd ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long overdue! This band was heavy on the funk!, November 6, 2004
This review is from: 20th Century Masters: Millennium Collection (Audio CD)
When I saw this album, I went nuts! Long overdue that they did a millennium collection for this group! Ready for the World tore it up in the '80s with their music! They had a little of Prince's sound in their music but managed to stay original afterwards. All my favorites are on here, including Oh Sheila, My Girly, Love You Down, Mary Go Round, Digital Display, Tonight, Gently, Straight Down To Business and others. They accomplished a lot in 4 albums with MCA and they had some funky stuff that even rivaled Prince's band in most cases! I like the fact that they're still performing today. They packed quite a lot on here for 73 minutes! But this album recalls their early glory and all those memorable tracks!

This CD is great! It has all their best songs in extended versions. I've loved Ready for the World since I was 13, so I was excited about this CD. I highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars When Trying To Be Like Prince Goes Good and Bad, June 9, 2011

That was the good. Now the bad is songs like Slide Over, Digital Display, and Whose Is It? or weak and alot of the songs sound the same after awhile. Melvin (the lead singer) was trying to ''get his Prince on'' but he doesn't have Prince's songwriting skills and the band suffered because of that.

Overall. This was a nice walk down memory line.
