J.J. CALE is without a doubt one of the finest prolific writers and superbly talented rock artists to ever emerge from the heartland of the USA. Oklahoma seems to have an never ending immensely talented group of musicians always coming and going through the years...each leaving their own distinct and memorable mark on the worldwide musical spectrum. J.J. CALE IS SIMPLY INCREDIBLE. This 20th Century Masters collection is a mini overview and hint of the richest and most prolific rock compositions ever recorded by a singer-songwriter which can be found on his entire three decade career spanning double disc anthology[50 tracks)ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS. After listening to these [teasing] gems, you'll want to get that treasure chest ANTHOLOGY! They should release a J.J.CALE BOX SET which includes all his cd-albums, because there is never a dull moment within this artist's entire entertaining catalogue. Not only is J.J. an extremely talented writer, but also a superbly gifted musician and singer. Forget the overly produced 'n polished Top 40 versions of some of these tracks covered by the likes of Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd,etc. which have become Classic Rock Radio playlist staples embedded in fans' memories forever, the truly edge cutting versions are the J.J. Cale originals found right here. Mr. Cale is definitely Mr. Rock 'n Roll himself, and he proves it all within the grooves of his compelling recordings. J.J. Cale/Dwight Twilley/Leon Russell/Phil Seymour(R.I.P.)and even the self absorbed Garth Brooks, among others...true talent fom Oklahoma.

noteworthy collection of songs by a great songwriter. and very well done album. have enjoyed J.J. Cale's music and singing for many years and this is a composition of some of his very best.
