Awesome place to start with Pat Travers!!!
This is a nice cross section of Pat's 10 album tenure on Polydor (1976-1985).
For those of us who have the albums, this is just rehash, but good rehash as only a few of his Polydor albums have seen "proper" release on CD. Prior compilations, such as the Anthology Vol. 1 & Vol. 2, and Best Of do a better job as they have more songs, but are getting harder and...

Great Playing, But Songwriting's a Traversty!!!
Pat Travers Millennium Collection is just filled with fabulous 70's blues-based, hard rock guitar playing, so much so that you will want to get up and boogie right away! Songs such as "Boom, Boom..." and "Snortin' Whiskey" are just the kind of rabble rousing concert anthems that make you want to get out of your seat and jump for joy! Yes!! Travers...

For those looking for a more complete collection of songs would do well to get the "Rock Solid Essential Collection". It's a 2 disc set with more than double the material, extensive linear notes and awesome pictures to boot. See my review on this one as well. Pat Travers is a true original who deserves more of the spotlight than he ever got. Check out his Travers & Appice Cds for even more rock PT style! :)

Yes!! Travers music is often compared to Foghat; like that band of Brits, Travers playing is sensational, however his songwriting leaves much to be desired. Sure, "Snortin' Whiskey" and "Crash and Burn" are great songs, but they are just about the only originals worth mentioning. The Canadian guitar wizard seems most comfortable with blues covers such as Little Walter's "Boom, Boom...." and Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign" (which should be included on this collection, but it isn't). This collection includes hard rock material from several 70's albums; perhaps Travers should move in an all-blues direction, mix in some covers and work on his writing skills. Still, this album is full of fun and great licks, and deserves a listen. Try a few samples and see for yourself. We could all do with a little more boogie in our lives. Rock On!!!
