5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Fixx
If you're into the 80's scene and collect, this is a great addition to your collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Incomplete Fixx
Warning shot....the versions of "Stand Or Fall" and "Red Skies" are inferior live versions. This collection also does not include any tracks from albums after "Walkabout."

The "Ultimate Collection" has the studio versions from "Shuttered Room" and songs from 3 more albums, and is the better buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Millenium Collection - Great audio quality, November 6, 2000

It appears this is a record company release not necessarily a band authorized project. I would recommend the Ultimate Collection for a more complete hits album. The audio quality on this is outstanding, however, and it is a must have for the serious fan like me. One review complains of the album art, which is not the pics I would have used if I were the artist. The liner notes imply the band not to be very active which I can attest is just the opposite. The Fixx is touring currently to packed venues and have a lineup in place for 2001 as well. In the end it is a good thing to have The Fixx's music out and selling as they deserve much more credit artistically than they sometimes get being lumped in with the 80's has-beens.

2.0 out of 5 stars There are better Fixx compilations out there..., October 26, 2000
By A Customer
...and this is not one of them! It's not bad if you only want the hits, but if your favorite songs are from the first album, then you're a little out of luck. "Stand Or Fall" and "Red Skies" are both live versions. This record is exactly the same as their 10 year old "Greatest Hits" record, except that the song "A Letter To Both Sides" has been replaced with "How Much Is Enough." (The sound is much better, though.) If you want a thorough representation of this band, pick up the "Ultimate Collection" that came out last year instead. It includes ALL of their hits, including "Driven Out," which is not on the Millennium Collection. However, if the only song you know is "One Thing Leads To Another," then this one should do just fine, I guess. By the way - why in the world did they put the same picture on the cover of this CD that they used for the "Ultimate Collection"? Certainly there are many more photos of this band out there. Proceed with caution...

4.0 out of 5 stars This Would Be A Good Item If You Need Your Fixx, April 10, 2011

The Fixx were my band in the 80s. I loved their lyrics, and how their music could make you dance AND think at the same time. Not too many bands can do that. I haven't bought this yet, but from reading the track list, I plan to. And I'm planning to buy a lot more Fixx stuff on Amazon.com. I need my Fixx!!

However, I must say something about the band that isn't quite flattering: if you ever get the chance to meet them...do yourself a favor: skip it. I met them at a Washington, DC club after a show in 1991, and they were some of the biggest A---H----S you could ever meet. When I told Cy I'd wanted to meet him for eight years, he stared right through me like he was scared to death of me - and said nothing in return. Not even a "Thank you," or anything like that. When I told their drummer that I normally didn't ask for autographs, but I wanted theirs, he was extremely rude. He took a card I gave him, wrote on it, "We're honored," and flippantly tossed it back at me. The only one who was nice to me was Jamie - who I'd had a huge crush on in the 80s. And my crush continues, because of his talent, his good looks, and his class and manners - unlike his bandmates. If you get a chance to meet Jamie, away from the rest of the band, take it. Bypass the other guys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Rock artistry, great musical ability...and creative lyrics, September 1, 2009

This review is from: 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: Best Of The Fixx (MP3 Download)
The FIXX: Thinking rock artists is what I say....and quite frankly I didn't like most of the rock out there in the 70's and 80's..... it was too loud, too hard to understand the words, and get the message the artist was conveying.........The Fixx is different......they are playing in Reno this weekend (Saturday 9-5-09 at John Asquaga's Nugget)and I'm excited to see them live for the first time. It's a FREE concert believe it or not....some type of "Best in the West Rib CookOff".....I can pass on the pork......it's a Labor Day extravaganza ....and I'm thinking how fun is this.....Reno, The Fixx, gambling and English rock is ON!!!

[...] is their website to find out more about them. This is their final concert on the tour and they're back to England I'm told.

Enjoy. I will..... This could be my last "rock" live opportunity.....

4.0 out of 5 stars I think it's a good release, November 3, 2005
I have most of the cds by the fixx including a bootleg of their gig at red rocks in the 80s and I must say, this compilation is a decent one. I bought this because of the radio ver. of One Thing Leads to Another(the intro is longer)which is so hard to find. It was featured on Rhino's new wave hits of the 80's but it obviously came from an LP. Also, there is a track here that came after the release of Walkabout - It's "How Much is Enough" from Ink, released in '91.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great collection of rock songs, October 2, 2004
The Fixx is a great and honest group of rock. Frame by Frame the Fixx is a great singer, a great guitar rock-hero, a great bassist, a fabulous keyboardist and a sensational drummer. If you need a great cd of intelligent rock, this group is yours.
