Book Description

1947
Professor Sherman left San Fransisco in a balloon to travel across the Pacific Ocean. He shows up in the Atlantic with a stop on an island. He tells about life on the island. His stories mix fact with fiction about science and balloons. The professor swears this voyage is true, no matter how fantastic it may appear to the reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book I've Ever Read!, June 9, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The 21 Balloons (Hardcover)
Well, I'm only on chapter 6...but this book is amazing! It feels like you're RIGHT there in the book...and it's so exciting. Even though nobody lives on Krakatoa in real life-this book tells a totally different story and I really love that. It's a tie between The 21 Balloons and The Tale Of Despereaux for the best book I've ever read. I can't decide...hmm? =0) Anyways...I love this book so much and certainly reccommend it!! (I DEFINITELY SEE WHY IT HAS A NEWBERRY AWARD)

5.0 out of 5 stars THE 21 BALLOONS, May 5, 2010
This review is from: The 21 Balloons (Hardcover)
It all started when Professer Sherman's balloon was damaged by a pecking bird and crashed landed near the island of Krakatoa, an island in the Atlantic Ocean. After making his way to the island, he met an unusual man named Mr.F. Mr.F lived on Krakatoa. People thought it was imposible to live there because of the volcano there. All Professor Sherman wanted to do was to go home, but the people of Krakatoa don't want him to leave. Will he make it home? Read THE 21 BALLOONS to find out.
