Do yourself a favor and buy these from suntekstore. They're less than five bucks per earpad there, plus it's free shipping. (I put link in the comments so it doesn't get removed by Amazon).

I ordered this without looking too closely at the title. I assumed that since the headphones have two ear pads, I would get two ear pads. I am absolutely livid to find out that I ordered one ear pad. This item is sold by a third party "Dependable Resource". I'm not sure if the people running the outfit are stupid or sleazy. The tactic of selling a single ear pad reeks of some third rate mail-order camera store that sells the camera cheap, but rips off the customer by selling the camera battery as an extra cost item. In this case, I either have to place a second order for the other ear pad, or return the damn thing and order a pair from someone else.

When I placed my order, I ordered some extra things I wouldn't have normally ordered to pad the order to the magic $25 for free shipping. If the company had packaged two ear pads for $26, I probably would have grumbled, but ordered the things anyway due to the free shipping. Anyway, Dependable Resource gets big black marks in my book. After looking at some other reviews, it appears I should have just ordered them straight from Sony. I'm going to return the one ear pad, and I will encourage Amazon to drop these bozos.

Like the other people that have written here, the whole experience has turned me off on this vendor/product. If you order a replacement for a headphone it should be clearer. Out of principle, I will not order from this vendor again. I simply feel like I have been ripped off. I would rather put up with my old worn pad than pay for another one from them.

I spoke to Sony and they charge $5.95 for each pad and $6.95 for shipping so why should anyone buy from these guys when Sony charges the same amount as these sellers. These guys charge $4.95 and $7.85 for shipping so what am I saving? They are not giving the customers any bargains or discounts so why not deal directly with Sony? It doesn't make sense. If they lowered the price of shipping then it would pay to order from them, otherwise stick to Sony.

But to charge eight bucks for shipping it is totally absurd. It doesn't weight two ounces and you could send it in a envelope.

If you want thirteen bucks for the thing, then charge thirteen bucks and ship it free.

The pad is fine, and I'm ordering a few more...just not from this vendor. It's not really cheaper elsewhere, it's the principle of the thing. Pricing it at $4.95 and shipping it for $7.95 just feels dishonest.

First, I expected a pair of pads for the money they were charging. $12.97 for one pad is robbery. When I got the pad, I found it's diameter is too small for the headphone. I have the v600 series and it obviously is not the right pad even though it is claimed to fit. I ended up spending $18.31 for a pad that is too small even though I could make it work,it is sub-par, and I still need another one.

When the product came, it did not fit my Sony MDR-7506. When I returned they charged me 15% for the return.

A few days after purchasing the two pads through Amazon.com online, they arrived in a small box (means someone actually made some money on the shipping and handling charges) I opened it and found to my surprise that I bought not two sets of pads, but two pads, doubling my price and leaving me without the spare pads I thought I was purchasing. Well, after reading the fine print (that which I didn't read carefully), I found that the items were as advertised. So... I easily installed the new ear pads on my Sony MDR 7506 headphones and instantly, my headphones were like new again. While disappointed that I don't have a spare set of pads for the next time (yeah, I use them a lot), I'm completely satisfied with my 25 dollar rebuild of this wonderful audio product. Thank you, Amazon.com, for having these replacement pads available.

As a previous reviewer wrote, buy these at the suntekstore online. You will get free shipping and the price was under $5 per pair. The Suntekstore website clearly states 2 pads (unlike the seeming sleazy pracice of the Amazon vendors selling only one pad per order) and the reviews are much more positive than the reviews here at Amazon.

I have had my Studio Monitor headphones for probably 8 years. They have had a lot of use as I use them for video editing and for playing my digital piano. The thin covering over the ear pads finally wore out due to changing glasses while wearing the headphones--which will not happen again. So I was very pleased indeed when I discovered that Sony had made replacement pads for this headset. The MDR-V6 is simply the best headset I have ever used.

It took a couple minutes to figure out how to get the old pads off the headset, as there were no instructions provided. Gently working the edge of the covering out from a groove in the earphone was all there was to removing the old pads. Installing the new ones just took a little patience working the new cover back into the grove. The headset is just as good as new.
