This is George Thorogood & the Destroyers' 15th studio album titled '2120 South Michigan Ave'. This CD (13 tracks) is a tribute to George Thorogood's Chess Records (located at 2120 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL) heroes/legendary mentors. The overall sound is that of 60s rock/bluesy-rock/blues sound & he collaborates well with producers Tom Hambridge & Richard Fleming. Stand-out track is "Spoonful" : very melodical track. Great tracks include "Going Back" (bluesy-rock), "Hi-Heel Sneakers" (great vocals/duet & guitars featuring Buddy Guy), "Seventh Son", "Let It Rock" ('typical' 60s rock sound), "Two Trains Running(Still A Fool)" (bluesy track with great blues guitar & vocals), "Bo Diddley", "Mama Talk To Your Daughter", "Help Me", "My Babe" (great duet featuring Charlie Musselwhite), "Chicago Bound" (60s rock sound, great piano & guitar) & "2120 Michigan Ave." (great piano & featuring Charlie Musselwhite. This is the title track). On overall, this is a great tribute to George Thorogood's mentors/heroes in a 60s rock/bluesy-rock/blues style, quite well fitting to his heroes/mentors, a highly recommended CD listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars Home Run July 13, 2011

This is more than a tribute album. It's a bunch of Blues disciples telling the truth that is Chess Records. The Destroyers have never been off course, nor have they ever forgotten their roots. For those of us who have followed the Destroyers since the La Pena days, well, it's a beautiful thing.

I have been a George Throrogood fan for as long as I have been old enough to appreciate the blues, a long time. This album is classic Thorogood in it's sounds and style. If you love the Destroyers this is a must buy.

Solid album from George and the boys. They get back to the roots of the blues that they grew up on. Good pick up if you're a Destroyers fan.
