TALL Lady Dress,

I am 5'2" -
The top half of the dress is made for a very long upper body .. and there are no adjustments for the straps. Heels will get you no where. It's the upper body that's the problem as it's made for a reaaally long torso. The beads that you can't see clearly in the picture are actually bright and gaudy in my taste. But - if you like bright - each little dot you see on that dress is actually a very intricately sewn shape akin to those dots on peacock feathers. In fact each 1" round dot looks like a very very bright green and deep blue peacock circle out of 2cm cylindrical beads. You can tell a lot of work went into this part of the dress, but it's much brighter than the subdued colors shown in the picture. The flowers on the lower half are actually a large print that seems to be ironed onto the dress. If I was reeeaaally tall with a long upper torso and liked bright bead work, this would be the dress for me. The chest area would be beautifully covered however - so if that's your only worry then go for it. Another warning - you have to pay 15% of the cost of the dress and the return shipment for any returns with PROM 21. Hopefully this company will get with the times and change this policy; my reasoning is that they're coming from the fact that so many people buy these dresses, wear them, and then return them used. The explanation they give me for this fee was that it was to clean the dress for the next purchaser. However mine was in mint condition; I only tried it once - and I've never had that fee with other companies.. In spite of the one-try deal, I still had to pay the 15% plus return shipment. OUCH. PROM 21 actually has other dresses that are worth this 15% hazard - I made a review on one I adored which has amazing materials in it (and I've gotten so many compliments on it). Just be careful; make sure you read the reviews (if there are any) and are ready to pay the return shipping costs PLUS 15% of your dress if you don't like it. It's worth it - if the dress fits you. |
