This review is from: 21st Century Guitar Theory 1: The Most Complete Guitar Course Available (Belwin's 21st Century Guitar Library) (Paperback)
as a professional guitar teacher I have been using these books for years and have had fantastic results from my students ranging in age from 5 yrs old to adults. easy to understand and a logical progression of information string to string, note to note is a clear and easy way to learn. songs get harder the more you learn. recommended for anyone. can be used easily by an adult who wants to teach themselves. the CD is very useful for that.

I have been teaching guitar for years and this (21st Century Guitar - Aaron Stang) is the best series I've found. This is the Theory book for level one and coordinates perfectly with the method book.

I appreciate this guitar method immensely. I have been teaching for 9 years, and other than the FJH method for young beginners, I have never found a guitar method with an accompanying theory book, as well as great song selection. The songs range from classical to pop, rock and folk/Celtic. A great diversity of musical genres, and if you take your student through all three levels, they will be able to play some fairly intermediate/advanced guitar pieces. The pacing is also good, never moving too fast for my students to keep up with.

It took less than ten minutes to skim through the content. Most of it is nothing more than "fill in the blanks" exercises and poorly tabbed practice drills. I suppose the print version is worthwhile, but I would recommend either Hal Leonard Guitar Method, Complete Edition: Books & CD's 1, 2 and 3 or Alfred's Basic Guitar Method - Complete (Book & CD's) (Alfred's Basic Guitar Library) long before I would recommend the print version of this one.
