Patricia Mignon Hinds, writer, editor, and educator, is the director of Essence Books. She is the editor of The ESSENCE Total Makeover: Body, Beauty, Spirit and ESSENCE: 25 Years Celebrating Black Women, and is the author of nine children's books. She lives in New York City.

A very uplifting book with wonderful insights and entertaining stories. Very easy read and I will often refer to it in the future. The five principles focused are definitely taking the step in the right direction to living a good life which is bound to lead into success. This book offered the friendly advice that gets you going and helps you see the light in times of difficulty. I wish there where more exercises that challenged and helped you look deep into your thoughts and feelings, but other than that it is definitely worth it.
