5.0 out of 5 stars A LIGHT DELIGHT
I have several LP's of The Magic Organ, and this CD contains selections from many of them. Beautiful performances, very airy and light sound. Especially enjoyable are PENNY ARCADE and other Jerry Smith originals. A little Griffin-like, but distinctive and up-to-date in sound. No, it's not Virgil Fox at the Crystal Cathedral, but it's bouncy and bright.

3.0 out of 5 stars I LEARNED THE HARD WAY
I WAS DISAPPOINTED. I did not remember that the "HAPPY ORGAN" was a rather irritating electronic organ. Yes, it was well performed music, but not for me. However, others may like this rather lazy style of organ music. I will keep it in my collection as a reminder that sometimes the picture doesn't have a thousand words, and assumption, well you know the rest.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed..., July 19, 2001

This CD is a major disappointment. Song selection is worthy, execution is without mistakes....but that is as good as it gets. Style, rhythm, and registration are boring, repetitive, and without imagination. I have some outstanding organ CD's, some of which are not available anymore, but this one is definitely amateur level.

I defy you to listen to this CD and not end up laughing hysterically. "Greensleeves" alone is a masterpiece of cheese and belongs in everyone's collection. Buy this CD right now!
