This system allows one to pick the most appropriate end or connector and the most appropriate length of bungee. For one that needs to keep things from rattling around in the truck and for periodic general-purpose use, I've been very pleased thus far. I've found the "Y" and the in-line connectors the most versatile, allowing the assembly of task specific hold down. I picked up some "smart bungee" accessories (individual parts and additional cords) at a local hardware store to round out the set, but the multiple piece set reviewed here is was more economical than buying all the individual pieces separately.
Not sure how the bungee cords themselves will hold up under entended use (years), but I suspect the cords will hold up as well as similar cords with permanent ends. The connectors and ends themselves seem very sturdy and several have plastic coatings to avoid scratching surfaces.
Other reviwers voiced concerns over tight or loose connections between the cords and the ends. While some connectors are tighter than others, I don't foresee this being an issue under normal use. Under severely bouncing or cyclic loads it might work lose, but I have not seen nor do I expect to experience this issue.

I bought a set of these before going camping, thinking I'd make some use of them. These cords were INCREDIBLY useful. I used a couple of the cords to quickly hang a taught ridgeline, and was able to get my hammock & rainfly up very quickly. I've since used these in a variety of configurations to transport stuff attached to my car (like bicycles); wrap up my fake Christmas tree in a canvas tarp for storage; and for other lashing purposes. I've since put a selected set into my bug-out-bag; if necessary I can use them to hang a clothesline; quickly hang a sturdy ridgeline for an open-air tarp shelter; lash gear to the molle system on my rucksack. I'm planning to get a set for my Dad-- he always uses bungee cords to secure stuff to his trailer, or to lash tarp over it and these are simply more secure than hooking a string of 3-4 shorter ones together.

It's not the bungee cords. It's the fantastic array of interchangeable ends. Very well designed, and good construction. The product description and the other reviews, cover what can be done. Incredibly versatile.

My only disappointment, is that I cannot make my own custom length bungees. As with other cords, you can hook two or more together, but I wanted to cut a one-piece bungee cord to a specific length. The ends are permanent, and are not meant to be changed.

The ends are the weak link on any bungee cord. Time will tell how these hold up.
