I was a little nervous putting these dishes on my online registry for fear that they wouldn't be packed well, but they were packed very efficiently (with cardboard slices in between each dish). They also look really nice. It's hard to tell online if they would have a tasteful design to them, but I am really pleased with the colors. It's warm and earthy, yet classy and trendy. The black is a soft black, and the dishes almost have a clay/ceramic feel to their outside surfaces. It's a glossy inside surface. I would definitely recommend these! :-)

Living in Manhattan, I wanted a more sophisticated dinner table. The matte black finish combined with the smooth, shiny, green interior on these dishes look very hip in my apt. Just wish 222 5th offered a hostess or completer set so I had a platter, creamer etc.
