Perfect for fans of Oswalt, September 28, 2008
This review is from: 222 (Audio CD)
If you are a fan of Patton Oswalt, you will really love this album. It is a totally uncut version of the show his album "Feelin Kinda Patton" was recorded during. What you get in this piece is just over 2 hours of stand up. As an introduction the the comedian, you may not enjoy this as much as the more polished and edited "Feelin Kinda Patton," but if you are already familiar with Patton Oswalt and like him, this is just great. You get to hear a lot more of Patton talking with the audience, as well as some material that isn't featured on the edited album, but is funny anyway. Additionally, if you have ever heard his newer album "Werewolves and Lollipops" you will notice a good deal of the material in 222 are less refined versions of the jokes featured in it. These things probably won't matter to people who aren't big fans of Patton, but if you are, it's really wonderful. If you are new to stand up, or haven't heard Patton Oswalt before, you will be better off with "Feelin Kinda Patton" or "Werewolves and Lollipops," but if you're already a fan, you can't go wrong with this.

Available for $5.99 on iTunes..., January 11, 2011
This review is from: 222 (Audio CD)
Word to the wise, this great album is on iTunes in its unedited two-track glory for $5.99. Just to warn those of you with interest who don't want to spend $50 for two CDs. I usually buy my digital music and comedy from Amazon, but the discrepancy in price sent me straight back to iTunes for this particular purchase. Not putting down Amazon, but $50 for a comedy CD album where sound quality is not important at all is ridiculous.

Mostly good, January 16, 2011

Kudos to guy below who points out it is possible to purchase the download of this elsewhere for much cheaper than the discs now go for. Note also that some of the material from "222" ended up on "Werewolves and Lolipops" rather than "Feelin Kinda Patton Oswalt." Depressing and disappointing use of homophobic slurs, although try to find comedy without it. I think (hope, at least) a lot of people are going to be rightfully embarrassed about this in a couple of years. Otherwise, not much to say. If you love Patton Oswalt, you'll love this album. If you're just getting into him, my advice would be to buy "Feelin" and then this.
