3.0 out of 5 stars Not the greatest gloves
Using these gloves for daily use with scissors. After 1 week, the material started deteriorating. Not a huge expense but I wish the gloves lasted longer.

I read the reviews from other customers, and I am not sure of buying it, so I went to the local retail store and check it out myself. It is very thick and confortable and feel protective once I wear it, so I picked up one from the store. I ran a little test by using my scissor and trying to cut it. It will not cut through, if I push hard enough, you will see the fiber start to split apart. SO for the normal use of these gloves, it should be good enough to protect my hand. Would recommended and buy again, it's cheaper on amazon prime.

4.0 out of 5 stars good, but not enough to fully trust, June 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i recently decided to purchase a set of cut resistant(and i put emphasis on resistant) gloves because i slipped with one of my knives and cut my hand to the bone, ended up with 8 stitches. i just got the gloves today, shipping was quick as usual, but im a bit concerned...i tested out a glove with one of my sharpest knives. i laid the glove on a board, and sliced across the back putting a fair amount of pressure on the blade. the result was a hole in one spot. this is why i dont trust the gloves fully, but the rubberized palm worked amazingly well at repelling the edge of the knife. all in all, good gloves, but not enough to fully trust them.

5.0 out of 5 stars They work! Saved my instrument playing fingers!, March 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got these to use with my Benriner Mandolin slicer and they've saved my flute playing fingers a few times. They didn't even get cut by the fresh sharp blade. When the rubber hits you can feel it and stop moving. It jams in there. They're great for handling slippery produce as well. I found that I could eve use the rough texture to easily rub carrots clean and remove those thin annoying layers of the onion.

5.0 out of 5 stars New material works, October 18, 2010
I just heard the BladeX5 term in the hardware show. new Tech, Well, I haven't tested the bullet stopping abilities, but they do fit great and are a great alternative to using the plastic holder that came with my mandolin slicer. highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most effective cut resistant gloves on the market, October 1, 2010
I bought this pair of gloves for yard work and general maintenance around the house. Hard to find Extra large size, but they have every size. The product is made very well and a good price. BladeX5 seems to be a new brand on the market, but they makes quality and effective cut gloves.

I read the reviews from others saying this gloves is not offer puncture resistant, I mean if you trying to use a sword to stab urself, you might end up hurting urself. But the plam where coated with rubber material, it offer good amount of puncture resistant from the thorn and bushes. It gives enough time to respond and not get cut.

Highly recommended to my friends and family

I've used these gloves a few times now and so far, so good. I've used them when peeling potatoes and they make the job go much quicker. I'm no longer afraid of peeling off a piece of my finger. The rubber palm grips the potato, even when it's wet / slick. I actually get a better grip than I would without the glove. I can peel much quicker with the confidence that I won't be removing my own skin along with the potato's AND that I won't be dropping the potato on the floor.

I've also used the gloves to handle the extremely sharp rotary blades of a jerky slicer. The blades would be untouchable without the gloves, but with them, I'm able to easily handle them / brush them clean / dry them off / get them back into the slicer.

The gloves are sized small which is a good thing. I ordered a large and they are tight fitting on me. You want your finger to go all the way into the tip of the glove, so you don't have a glove tip waiting to be sliced off.

Highly recommended for people who don't like bleeding in the kitchen!

5.0 out of 5 stars its not the rubber that make cut resistant, itz the fiber called BladeX5, gloves itself made of Cut Resistant Fiber, July 20, 2011
I read couple reviews on this product, people seems to mistakely think that is the rubber palm makes this gloves as cut resistant, IT IS THE CUT RESISTANT FIBER RATED AT CUT LEVEL 5. THEY USE THIS FIBER TO MAKE THIS GLOVES. I saw this gloves at a trade show, that's how I learned it. There was a guy using a blade slicing the back of the glove, after few times, the gloves still in one piece, no cut , no holes or anything. I was pretty impressed by their demonstration.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent gloves but I prefer leather, July 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It says they're more cut resistant than leather and maybe they are, I haven't tried to cut them, but they're not as good against punctures for sure. My parakeet bit right through it.

Next time I'm buying leather.

It's got this texture that might help avoid a cut but it's basically just rubber. Save your money. You'd be better off getting a metal glove. A little cumbersome but works much better. The fit wasn't very good either. It felt tight on my palm but it was loose in the fingers. Do not recommend.
