5.0 out of 5 stars Too Fun! May 10, 2013
Verified Purchase
I am a social worker that works with kids of all ages and on occasion I need to give a younger sibling something to occupy his time with and so I have added a few of these types of games to my Kindle Fire. This one is simple but a lot of fun. As I was sitting in the doctors office trying to look intelligent while reading a book I suffered a little reader burnout and decided to tinker with the app and make sure the kids could figure it out.
First things first, it's simple but mentally stimulating, which when you are trying to keep a kid occupied is essential. When kids get frustrated with a game they ask the adult to play it for them!
And the animations! I absolutely love them!
I recommend this game for anyone with small kids that wants something to keep them busy but not make the kid dumb in the process!

3.0 out of 5 stars Requests device ID and GPS location at startup June 17, 2014
Verified Purchase
I believe it is doing it because it is using the Adobe AIR library. However, in the interest of full disclosure and since this is a children's app, I think parents should know that the app is doing this. The reason for it may be entirely benign but I think you will agree that a children's app should not be tracking your location, especially a full version app. It's a shame too as it appears to be a very good app. But until we know why it is behaving this way I have to rate it at only three stars as an alert. If the developer explained this behavior I will change my review accordingly.

However, I felt it necessary to warn parents that this is happening.

The tool that I used to see this behavior in this case is a program called Xprivacy and it needs a rooted device to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Charmer June 17, 2014
Verified Purchase
What an absolute charmer! This collection of very simple animated puzzles is a sweet setting of delightful aural and visual interactions. Minimal permissions, and there is a complete lack of any outside linkings, the app interior being 100% safe for lil fingers.

The claimed GPS/Device ID "requests" by another reviewer simply doesn't matter. Without the prerequisite permissions, code can request all they want, but they shan't get a thing. The requesting code may indeed be present as part of the standard Adobe Air shell used by this game, a cross-platform code vehicle with great flexibility, but without specific allowances, any remaining, unused code is moot. This is why it can be misleading to "look under the hood" without practical discernment.

Network Access: Licensing Validation- game runs without Internet on after ownership has been verified (which is usually done during the installation process).

External Memory: Saves to SD card if available

The only minor concern I have is that this children's app may not do so well on older devices. The RAM usage is moderate-high at 90 megabytes, but even on my Samsung Tab 3, there is very subtle but still noticeable graphic lag/stuttering. However, after turning off the music off via the Settings button (upper right on Main Screen), the animation was much smoother. The back-key does exit cleanly as well exiting the individual puzzles to the selection screen.

After glancing through other reviews, I have the feeling most of the issues mentioned are largely in part due to this game's Music being on and causing random glitches during play.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good but delay/problems with sound December 5, 2013
Verified Purchase
This a decent toddler/preschool game, but when I go back to the main menu the sound from the last game keeps playing. Whats weird is when we played the car puzzle and went back to the menu, a sound clip that was on repeat was saying "that's a direct order, do it now!" playing behind the music. Subliminal message? Maybe. Creepy much? Definitely. Uninstalled.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the trouble November 29, 2013

Game locks up after 10 mins of play, unfortunately the 3 & 2 year olds love it so I am hoping for an update to fix it. The sound effects are also messed up and if you finish one puzzle they continue on to the next. I am looking for a game like this that works for the babies to use.

This is a game with excellent graphics and animation. It is a simplistic puzzle game for younger children to get them to think and use their motor skills. It is a good way for them to have fun and learn at the same time. The animation is well done and the sound effects are very good. There is a voice to guide you through the game and the animals make their sounds for you to hear.

You can even build a xylophone and play it with good sound effects. I played this app on my Samsung Tab 4 without any issues or glitches. This is a very nice children's puzzle and if you have young children they will enjoy it and have fun. Use it as a teaching tool to teach them about animals, colors, music and vehicles. You can use the settings to turn off the music or the sounds. The app still played when I turned off the WIFI. I rated this app as a 5 star item.

This is another app that has access to my SD card memory but installs itself totally into my device's limited storage. The installed sized is 37.76 MB. When it is moved to my SD card the storage is split with 17.40 MB left in my tablet's memory and 39.62 MB installed into my SD card memory.

* modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
* Full network access
There is no adware or malware in this app and it is safe to download.
