What do you believe about hell, August 18, 2010
This review is from: 23 Questions About Hell (with DVD) (Hardcover)
The book poses what the author thinks are the 23 most asked questions about hell and proceeds to give biblical references that answer those questions. Some of them are very good and when you read the book you should have your favourite bible version handy to look up those references. There were several answers that were provided that looked at aspects of the situation that I had never thought about before, for instance, hell is not "just" separation from God but rather a total lack of God. It is dark because God is light, it is chaos because Jesus is the Prince of Peace and other things like that. Definitely helpful in helping the reader to establish a ground for his own beliefs. Whether you believe that the author caught a glimpse of hell depends of course on your basic belief about life and death. The author keeps mentioning that the descriptions are strictly biblical and not his own opinions. The answers are written in a manner that everyone can understand and many of the questions do pertain to today's lack of belief in a God which includes heaven and hell

Awesome Book! Great Tool!, February 8, 2011
This is a great little book to keep around to easily answer many of the questions folks who are seeking ask concerning the Christian faith. Their questions are answered simply and in a user-friendly format so even those who hate to read will find this book both interesting and engaging. Terrific to have on hand as a tool for easy witnessing and you can always expand on the answers once your feet are wet. Thanks to the author for sharing his experience and for creating such a neat little book for those of us who would often stammer and stumble around our heads, searching for an answser to those difficult questions. People are looking for something to grab onto and will find sturdy material in the pages of this book. They do not ask these questions ( or secretly wonder them) desiring a huge dissertation on each topic. They want something easy to grasp and chew on that also is capable of responding to their deepest needs as they search. Whether or not they like the answers given to these questions, they cannot deny the truth in each and, that given, God's word never returns void. This is a treasure every Christian should own and keep handy to be ready in season and out of season. Thank you Bill Wiese for sharing your experience and the depth of knowledge such has given you on this topic. I am glad God chose someone as strong in the faith and as stable as you to visit such an awful place( in a vision, being the ONLY way a Christian can see hell) in order to warn others. (Had He sent me, I would have died of fright right after seeing the first horrible sights and been of no earthy or other-worldly good to Him whatsoever:) Guess He knew what He was doing choosing you:)For those of you thinking this book makes excuses for God, know this: The God of the Bible is Holy and fully just and that is why He Must punish sin. Humans rejected God and sinned against Him in the Garden. But it was a God who loved us all so much that He sent His Only Son Jesus to be the sin-bearer and take the punishment for sinful, God-rejecting human-beings who, so often, wanted no part of Him. Jesus came and took every human's place and died once and for all so we could have access to God again and have a chance to accept His offer of eternal life by accepting what His Son did for us on that cross. He loved us enough to have His Sinless Son bear the punishment and pay the price we could never pay. That is why Jesus cried out "It is finished!" before He died, it translates " The Debt has been paid in full" and it was applied to YOUR account. It is yours free for the asking. And, before you think it was sadistic for Him to send His Son to die for us, know it was God on that cross in the human form of Jesus shedding His Own Holy blood in our place. Our God not only made us, but He made us knowing full well we would reject Him and cause all this chaos and destruction on His planet. His goal was higher than just what we see- He wanted a forever family to spend eternity with and He knew that giving his beloved human creation free choice to love or reject Him was the best way to show love and get the final goal. Love is not love if it is forced; it is only real love if it is freely returned. God showed that kind of love by taking the punishment upon Himself in the person of Jesus Christ His Only Son. He only desires we search the truth out for ourselves and accept the free gift of eternal life that was bought with His own blood. Whatever god you make for yourself in this life, be it money or power or even another god of a different religion, you owe it to yourself to ask if your god loved you personally enough to die for you? I am not talking about religion here, for religion has done more harm over the centuries and caused more confusion and strife than much of anything else in this world, save for Secular Humanism under the rule of Mao, Stalin, and godless dictators of that sort. Rather I am speaking of a relationship which is what the God of the Bible seeks to have with you. Before you reject Him, take it one more step and ask yourself what wrong has Jesus ever done to you? "Amazing Love, how can it be? That You my King should die for me? Amazing Love, I know it's true; and it's my joy to honor You, in all I do, I'll honor You." Hey, if Christians are wrong, you have nothing to lose. But on the off-chance we're right, where does that leave you? Being angry and crititcal of the God of the Bible gets you no where. If you were in a car crash and the automobile was on fire and a fireman showed up at the door to get you out and save your life, would you be mad at him? Would you blame the one coming to save your life for the car crash? Ofcourse not. And that in essence is what God did for you personally already, yet in a much more enormous way. You owe it to yourself to find out the truth. Start by looking at Jesus. For Jesus is God and some of the answers to life's toughest questions are in the pages of this little book. Just because we cannot understand everything that happens on this side, does not make God a monster. Look into this matter for yourself, and see the truth- that He is not only our rescuer, but The Rescuer who took our place.

Great study!, August 24, 2010
This review is from: 23 Questions About Hell (with DVD) (Hardcover)
This was a study we did at our church and I wanted it for myself but was unable to find it at our local Christian bookstore. It was shipped quickly and the product was new. I would recommend this to anyone who has a faith in God. Hell is for real and you should know all about it.
