By implication, the 24:7 concept is going to contain some quite eclectic track selection, irrespective of which edition it is, or who the DJ in question is. This may be the one thing that became a self-imposed spanner in the works for Danny Howells - the eclecticism worked beautifully in the Day disc, but came sorta unglued in the Night disc.

Lee Burridge - no problem. Eclecticism for most people is just another day in the office for him. It shows on this mix.

Disc 1 - Day is just as good as Howells' effort, if not better. The mood is different, reflecting typical Burridge diversity with spacey echoes, whacked out breakbeat and some deep house vibes thrown in for good measure. The mixing is, as always, impeccable, and Burridge shows great judgement in his programming. The stand-out quality in this disc is the clear, clean progression that Burridge establishes without degenerating into samey-sounding house beats and techno-clacks. If Howells had you introspecting peacefully with his Day disc, Burridge has you bobbing about in your chair with a wide grin on your face - there's a bouncy, feel-good quality about this disc that's hard to describe.

Disc 2 - Night is where Burridge scores over Howells hands down. His NuBreed effort was, IMHO, the most under-rated of the entire series, whipping from mushroom-house to deep house to techno to deep house to breaks effortlessly. He shows this same ability in this disc, all the while retaining a definite danceable vibe. I still rate the Day disc better, but this one doesn't leave you feeling flat. Good representation of Lee Burridge DJing into the night, methinks.

If you're new to the 24:7 series, start with this album before listening to the first edition by Howells. It will give you a much better first impression. If you like Disc 1 but wish Disc 2 was a little better - buy the NuBreed by him and listen to it. If you don't like Disc 1, I'm sorry, but this series ain't for you.

Two years after his premier on the Nubreed series, Lee Burridge is back for his second release under Global Underground. This time it is for the subseries 24:7.

Disc 1 (day disc) has too many Rogue acid and trippy techno tracks for this reviewer's taste. I don't mind these subgenres of electronica, but a whole set of them can get annoying. Thankfully there are a couple of stellar tracks on this disc which help to balance it out. Noteably, "Phil's Science" by Philemon and "Rabbit in the Moon" by Deeper.

Disc 2 (night disc) proves that Lee Burridge can get also get his groove on. This disc's track selection is much more diverse and entertaining. The set as a whole works very well. There are still frequent bursts of trippiness, but it doesn't overwhelm as in disc 1.

Disc 1 gets 3/5 stars and Disc 2 gets 4/5 stars. Too bad GU doesn't offer disc 2 from Nubreed and disc 2 from 24:7 in a hybrid package! That would be a very decent compilation by Burridge.

Really it is one of the best cd's you will hear in your life 24:7 coz really Burridge proved him self in this series and iam sure that there is more this man can do! he is one of the most top dj's in house music and one of the most important global Dj's if you want to take by my advice don't miss the chance to buy burridge 24:7 and i rated this cd's by a five stars coz really this man intoduced in cd one BURRIDGE OWN HOUSE!!

Lee Burridge belongs to an escalator of progressing DJs, the ones who are not afraid to explore various surfaces of electronic dance music. For gods sake people, there is so much music that is still to be listened. How do you make a choice for the atmosphere of today? Of last night in some European town? That takes loud music playing while you are asleep awake and in fact when there are no speakers around!

Burridge doesn't wait to play strange music, it all just sort of lays down before your brain, so lite. Heavy in many other ways though. The bizzare transitions, musical basselines. If anything, there is definitely color and lush in this music.
You could see similarity of the creative variety in Agorias work.
This music gives a want for some different emotion, different strategies and questions. Burridges' mixing skills are literally melting one tune into the next, but sometimes he does it backwards?;D

A little about individual tracks...
At first Burridge begins with a chilled "liquid" by logic box. Some sunshine around you would do this track well. After, Lee drops a legs-behind-ears mushroom-house beauty "work it" with a robot-like voice somewhere behind lining the edge where two skies meet and floating up indefinitely, not something you want to miss. But all of the secrets have to be discovered individualy, so I won't go on. Maybe just about tracks 5 and 6 on CD one. (that is what is plaYING out of my system at this moment)Number 5 has a melody/sound that can stick to you for a week or two. And 6 is just.....bizzare<<<this is supposed to go with the rhythm.
Take this advise and get this music. Original is better for its sound quality. But owning the vynil press of this will make you the best.
