5.0 out of 5 stars This seems to be a Best Of
From the titles, this album seems to be a Best Of... unless of course Ian re-recorded these tunes.

If you don't have an Ian, then check this out... Ian is a GREAT songwriter in a similar "school" with Nick Lowe et al.

2.0 out of 5 stars Entirely Live. Has LIVE verision "Hold On". Not the Studio version.
This album is entirely live. You wouldn't know that. If you're were hoping for the excellent studio track/single "Hold On"...go elsewhere. A live version of "Hold On" is on this cd, but it's a disapointment compared to the studio version.

The other tracks, all live, are a mixed bag of songs. Few have much in common musically with "Hold On", and this artist...

Few have much in common musically with "Hold On", and this artist seems to lack direction. The album sounds almost like a compilation of different artists...the songs are so varied. Some songs like "Black & White" could be from Donnie Iris...some "Hooked On Love" harden back to an almost Elvis like 50's feel. Is this The Knack? Is this The Romantics? The Kids From C.A.P.E.R.? Hard to tell...

Try before you buy, after several plays this disc doesn't seem to have much potential of growing on you. Alright, but a bit bland and severely mediocre.

The bizarre album cover features an unflattering photo of the singer, and eventually you'll figure out he has a microphone in front of his face...so you'll be forgiven if you at first think the mike is some strange editing to make him have a dog or pig nose. The image is replicated so it appears nine times in different colours, which grabs your eye with a Warhol like effect. But a second look makes you realise that it's a re-working of some really unfortunate artwork. Just ugly.
