Loved watching it and always looked forward to the next show.

Was purchased as a gift - the receiver of the gift loves this series, and was very excited to receive it as the next 24 airs in May 2014.

I only paid one hundred dollars for this entire series as part of a Best Buy special, and it was a great purchase.

Every so often, a show comes around that reinvents television for ever. The X-Files reinvented Sci-Fi. Seinfeld reinvented comedy. 24 does for Serialized Action dramas what these shows did for their respective genres. What's great about 24 is that nothing like it had ever been seen before. It was bold. It was fresh. It was exciting. Each season consists of 24 one-hour long episodes. Jack Bauer, a federal agent, needs to stop some kind of act of terrorism (it's new every season.) But there's a twist: it takes place in real time. Each hour is an hour in the show universe as well, meaning, when all is said and done, each season is a day in the life of Jack Bauer. Meticulously assembled (at least in the first 5 or so seasons), the real-time aspect made the show. A drive across town might take half an episode, but it's frustrating when a life is on the line. Traffic lights are excruciating, especially if Jack's wife and daughter are kidnapped by terrorists, and we know in moments, they might die. If a terrorist claims they will attack at the end of the hour, the suspense will last until the end of the episode. Even better (or worse if you've started to watch late at night), is that each and every episode ends with a game-changing cliffhanger. You will wonder how the writers can come up with so many twists, but they consistently top themselves. The acting is phenomenal, although a little shaky in season one. As the characters were more fleshed out and the actors settled in, their parts were more believable, emotional, and heartfelt. The show is pretty violent and uses torture many times in order to extract information from terrorists. This was the subject of much criticism during its run, but I found it wasn't done in an excessive way to "disturb" viewers.Read more ›

There's no reason why this can't be on Blu Ray as well. And we'll probably see it sooner or later, but we should have it now! If you agree with this, please leave a comment. It'll be our own little petition.

Finally sat down and watched the series on DVD after seeing it on TV. It deserved better than this presentation. Let me explain:

The good: All seasons in wide screen with awesome picture. This is a fantastic show and a must own, 8 days of pure entertainment.
The bad: Rewind a little and you may be watching the same scene again with glitchy sound. Then the scene will start over with true sound.
The ugly: DVD cases break easily or come already broken. Whoever designed the jewel case here should not be in the business, there are little broken white plastic bits all over.
The menu system does not have the ability to "play all". Get ready to reach for the remote 192 times when it should really be 48 times (four episodes per disc). Rewinding is very glitchy, you must trick the DVD by going to the menu to go back a chapter as it won't let you rewind past any of the ticking numbers.

These problems persist, at least, in the first three seasons. Three days worth of glitchy rewinding and sound, broken DVD cases and ill designed menu systems. Will keep watching and update if it gets better in later seasons.

Nothing short of great TV. Loved watching it and always looked forward to the next show. Edge of your seat, white knuckle action! Its hard to resist the whole season at this price, but I'm going to hold out for the Blu-Ray.

I'm crazy obsessed with 24 and own all of the individual dvds. Of course I'm going to buy them all again in the complete box set. I love the show that much and then some. However, I expected there to be more bonus items included within the box set. All you get is one bonus disc that is exclusive to the box set that is short and not worth spending hundreds of dollars on. The dvds themselves are not specially packaged either. They are just the same dvd sets that you would buy off of the shelf just stuck inside a box, which is fine but it I hate feeling like I just bought the whole series all over again just to get a stupid box and a lame bonus disc.

To me, a box set needs to be more special than that. It needs special packaging to make it feel like one complete set. They really could have been far more creative with the packaging and presentation. On the bonus disc is a short (and I stress "short") mini-episode showing Chloe getting arrested. How hard would it really have been for them to make one more hour to watch? Instead they gave us like 5 minutes of something that really isn't worth seeing if all you see is 5 minutes of it.

Don't get your hopes up for new, special packaging, pictures, clips, deleted scenes, behind the scenes, or interviews you've never seen before. The bonus disc will give a total of about 30 minutes of actual interesting footage. The rest of it is just filler. Seriously, its mostly montages of clips from the show that you've already seen.

I hate to say it, but the bottom line is... if you're a crazy mega fan like myself and just have to have it because its not in your collection... then maybe consider the fact that you'll only be fulfilling the satisfaction of adding to your 24 dvd collection and nothing else.

The end of a great period in television history! Let's hope that the theatrical movies will be released in quick time! Thanks for the memories Keifer! No one will ever be able to fill your "shoes"!
