So after much time cruising around CNet and other review sites I finally stumbled across this monitor. I needed something that was 24", had a low response time, had an adjustable height, and had deep black levels. I also needed just one DVI/HDMI hookup, not some obscene amount like the Dell UltraSharp, which included 2 DVI, HDMI, Composite, VGA, USB Ports, the list goes on and on. This monitor fits the bill perfectly.

On CNet they said that the monitor was the best looking one for playing DVD's, and I believe them. If you turn the Brightness down all the way and set the Sharpness to soft, even DVD sources look amazing. The blacks are astounding for an LCD, with virtually no artifacts using the Sharpness/Brightness trick, and due to the 2ms response time, I have yet to see ghosting, even in high action scenes.

It's also easy to adjust the monitor to a desired height, which is awesome due to the inconsistency of dorm furniture. Also, the HDMI to DVI "converter" it comes with is an actual HDMI to DVI 4 ft cable, not a little converter piece.

The only cons I have are that you can't detach the speakers, and it would sure be nice if there were preset buttons that I could just tap whenever turning a movie on, but those are minor issues. All in all I would highly recommend this monitor, as it's nearly $200 cheaper than a Dell UltraSharp, unless you really think you need all those connections.
