The product is great but the company should label the spools they send. I was not sure if it actually contained 100 feet of braided wick since there was no label on the spool except a hand written "24 PLY" and the amount of wick was 1/2 the amount pictured in the spool. Also, the picture shows 2 spools, you will only get one.

The sender did state that the spool did indeed contain 100 feet. Otherwise, the spool came very quickly but the s/h was expensive.

Made beeswax candles for christmas gifts this year. This spool worked out great, with plenty to spare for future projects. Good quality. Great price, and arrived promptly. Thanks1

I feel like this wick is easy to work with while pouring my soy candles. However, it keeps folding over while it's burning, causing the flame to go out. Sometimes it is still salvageable, sometimes not. I also am not getting an even burn with this. I realize that could be an issue with the wax, but I have had great results with stronger wicks and this wax. I bought this for the convenience of having such a long amount, but I won't be buying it again.

This product is okay. I bought it especially because it didn't have the metal wire in the center of the wick, which is said to be carcinogenic. However, I find that with this particular model, the wick is prone to "curling over" as it burns, putting itself out in the melted wax which then hardens and traps the wick. Not having caught this in the process of happening, it's resulted in a lot of extra work to dig out the wick, re-light and hope it doesn't happen again. I wish I had known this before I bought it.

I'm going to try a square wick instead and see if that balances itself any better.

Priming a wick is easy, and there are many tutorials online. You need to soak the pre-cut wicks in the melted wax for a few minutes to let the wax penetrate the cotton and release any trapped air. Laying them out straight (you have to be quick!) and allowing them to stiffen on some tin-foil or other wax-proof material makes the wicks easier to work with. They also may burn more slowly and evenly than the wick when un-primed.

I would like to have known the thickness, this wick wont stay burning. Needs to be thicker,or with the zinc in the middle so wont curl up in wax and smother itself out. If you have the stiffer or thicker for larger diameter candles we would be interested in same size roll. Thank You!

Endless strings of wick!! Nothing beats that! I use this for all my candles. Sometimes I dip the wick in candle wax first before using it for candles.
