25 Billingual Mini-Books (Grades K-2)

These books are really simple to make in the classroom and give the kids an opportunity to read with their parents at home. The only problem is, some of them are not very interesting. The ones that are great make it worth getting the book.

Wow! After doing their Flip Flop Spanish lesson today, my children were THRILLED to make these books. They already had the foundation of some vocabulary and phrases, and as they worked on coloring and folding, they were sounding out the words and comparing the English and Spanish on the book and picking up new vocabulary like crazy. Wow, what a great resource.

I don't think they'd be the ideal introduction to Spanish, but great as an add-on. Only flaw is the lack of a pronunciation guide. I'll be trying them out in my Spanish classroom next, since my own children so enjoyed the first one.

The mini-books in this collection are quite fun! There is a variety of formats of books (rather than just the traditional half-page fold). The topics stretch beyond the standard, too. There are books about clothing, baby animals, fruit, etc. This was a worthwhile purchase.
