5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Collection At An Amazing Price
I am normally not a fan of classical "greatest hits" type albums, but I make a deserved exception for this CD. 1.0 out of 5 stars How can you go wrong with Mozart?...Buy this and find out.
I was extraordinarely ignorant when I purchased this recording. I thought,"WOW!! Look at all the music you get in this CD set. The price cannot be beat!" When I received the CD, I discovered that you don't really get any music at all. This is a great sample CD, and should be bought by a person brand new to classical music. However, if you have any experience with...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Collection At An Amazing Price, October 5, 2004

I am normally not a fan of classical "greatest hits" type albums, but I make a deserved exception for this CD. This CD is an excellent introduction to all the different styles Mozart is famous for; it has slightly over 75 minutes of music contained in its 25 tracks. The selections were largely well chosen, although to be nitpicky I would have preferred slightly more representation of his sublime horn concertos. Having said that, I unabashedly recommend this CD to anyone who wants a good overall overview of the works of Mozart. My particular favorites on the CD are "The Marriage of Figaro", "The Magic Flute", Horn Concerto Number 3 in E-flat", and, of course the always beautiful "Symphony Number 40 in G Minor."

The amazing thing about this CD is actually not the music presented, but the unbelievably low asking price for the CD, particularly considering that the recording quality is excellent with little to no background noise detectable, even at fairly high volume. This CD is highly recommended to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning...Tranquil...Amazing, February 22, 2002

The music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the world's most acclaimed and brilliant composers, is undeniably essential in anyone's library of classical music. "25 Mozart Favorites" is a wonderful collection to start with. Not only does it include the basic necessities, but the choice and flow of the movements is perfect. Another quality of this collection is that it doesn't exploit his music and give buyers the idea that if you play it over your baby's crib at night, it will turn your child into a genius.
Two of the many highpoints: "The Marriage of Figaro" and "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" (or, "A Little Night Music").
The music of Mozart is stunning, tranquil, and amazing, a world of its own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for Mozart fans, July 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: 25 Mozart Favorites (Audio CD)
If you're a lover of Mozart's glorious music, this CD is for you. It is also a good intro cd for beginners who are interested in the music of Mozart. The selections are some of Mozart's finest: Overtures to Figaro and Magic Flute, piano concertos, violin music, flute music, and even his Requiem. The only thing that they left out was his actual opera arias and highlights (for example Don Giovanni or Nozze de Figaro arias). But otherwise it is a very excellent taste of Amadeus' unforgettable music and, i will emphasize.. AFFORDABLE. The price is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mozart with pleasure and quality of performance, December 29, 2004
This review is from: 25 Mozart Favorites (Audio CD)
I usually try to avoid the CDs with this titles
simpy because they are very poorly arranged and not
such a good quality. This CD is long and beautiful,
so if you love Mozart you will enjoy it....

However, if you have any experience with classical music, you will want to pass on this CD.

Each of the pieces are hacked apart to the point of it being comical. It's interesting to listen to the greatest music in the world, only to have the development cut. All of a sudden I was thrust into a new key, I thought my ears were going crazy. Perhaps an effort by a decent high school orchestra, but this music is not up to snuff with any other recording.

Do yourself a favor and go out and purchase real recordings of Mozart, and not watered down stereotypes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pick-up, July 18, 2004

Although I would have liked to have seen more selections from Mozart's formidable operas, this CD offers a very comprehensive selection of old favorites and a few pieces casual fans most likely have not heard before. For 5 dollars, do yourself a favor and pick up this collection for someone perhaps not familiar with the man who remains ahead of his time, even today.

This CD contains the most popular music from Mozart. If you are just start to listen some classical music, this one is a wise choice for you. The price is cheap, and the quality of recording is acceptable.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL ASSORTMENT THAT'S BECOME MY FAVORITE, November 14, 2004
This review is from: 25 Mozart Favorites (Audio CD)
I really didn't know Mozart until I bought this collection of his music. Oh, I knew who he was and a few of his most popular pieces. But I really didn't know the breadth and richness of his music until I began listening to this compilation. Now it is by far my favorite. I recommend it with a big smile.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mozart Listener, August 31, 2006
This review is from: 25 Mozart Favorites (Audio CD)
This is a good CD if you like Mozart's music. It is not the best CD I ever purchased. It is nice to listen to it in the morning before I go to work. And I sometimes listen to it in the evening before I go to bed. It is relaxing and soothing. I am not a music major or therapist. This is the best review I can write. Mary Agnes Cross

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful collection and price!, May 10, 2007
This review is from: 25 Mozart Favorites (Audio CD)
I found this to be a nice collection of favorites, especially to keep in the car and listen to. It is a variety of well known compilations. Although not encompassing, it is perfect as a review for driving, relaxing, and enjoyment. Plus, the price is right!
