5.0 out of 5 stars 50% of God's workforce set free by this book!
With a full 50% of God's workforce disabled to some extent by the lies of his enemy, it's apparent God anointed J. Lee Grady to pursue this topic, search out the truth, and set the captives free. It doesn't matter whether you are in ministry currently or not, whether you are male or female, everyone needs to read this book. Especially men in ministry. We can change...

1.0 out of 5 stars not as good as I expected
The book was not very meaty. Probably could have been condensed to about 12 Questions...

We can change things! Get his other book "The 10 Lies the Church Tells Women" also. Resist the old mindset and just check it out.

Imagine the Greece, Sudan, Nigeria, and other 3rd world countries with this truth.

My wife has ministered for 33 years and she loves it also.

Can't say enough good things about this book. It's about time we get past Dark Ages ideas about gender and Christianity, most of which have no biblical basis. He gives good practical advice for applying mutual submission in marriage, what abused spouses should do, how to balance work and family, etc. May God continue to bless his calling.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liberating and enlightening!, May 30, 2006
This review is from: 25 Tough Question About Women: Answers from God's Word that will set women free (Paperback)
After searching extensively for books on this topic, I bought Grady's book, hoping it would provide me with what I was looking for. I wasn't disappointed. "25 Tough Questions" was an excellent read that helped stave off the sexist way of thinking that plagues the Church. Overall I was satified in the answers, but I did feel that the same reasoning was used too often. After reading the first few chapters, the logic behind the answers becomes predictable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, March 25, 2011
This review is from: 25 Tough Question About Women: Answers from God's Word that will set women free (Paperback)
J. Lee Grady has done an excellent job in making a case for women serving in the church. Instead of just picking out certain Scripture passages that seem to limit what women can do, he draws from many Biblical references and gives examples of many female leaders in the Bible who were strong and often assertive and shows how they served the Lord.

He also shows how the same Paul who had things to say about women teaching men, also praises many female officeholders in the various churches with which he was associated. I appreciated this, as I had noticed on my own that in I Corinthians Paul goes through some things women need to keep in mind as they prophecied -- something that is all but impossible to do without using vocal cords -- better known as SPEAKING.

He also tackles divorce issues, marriage and family issues, the subject of single women. He also stresses the importance of women forgiving their husbands and other men in their lives, but he does not ever intend to put women in the place of being sitting ducks for further mistreatment.

In all, it's a good treatment of a controversial topic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to reading this book, October 19, 2010
This review is from: 25 Tough Question About Women: Answers from God's Word that will set women free (Paperback)
Admittedly, I have not yet read this book but it is on my list of ones to pick up. I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see other men in the ministry speaking up for our partners in the ministry.

1.0 out of 5 stars 25 Tough Questions abou Women and the Church, November 2, 2007
This review is from: 25 Tough Question About Women: Answers from God's Word that will set women free (Paperback)
The author begins with a presumtive assumption about what the Bible is saying about his subject. From there he sets out to prove his point ignorning the most common rules for Biblical interpretaion including even his claim that certain passages do not mean what they say. Take this book as a indication of why women are struggling with the subject rather than resolving their struggle. The author is at best "dangerous" for women and clergy who are seeing truth in God's word.
