Little delicate but works like a charm.
on February 11, 2014
I had an old XBox 360 Arcade (I added a hard drive) that was dying and I needed to evac the hard drive into a new system. So I bought an XBox E 4GB that fit these type of enclosures. I didn't read any stories of other people actually doing this so it was a bit of a gamble. I pulled the grey plastic header off my old XBox, popped a few plastic tabs, removed a couple of screws and easily got access to the old hard drive. I then put the hard drive into this new case and it fits snug and secure, no screws needed. I then slid this case into the new XBox and it clicked happily in place.
I fired up the new XBox and it recognized the new hard drive immediately. No setup or tinkering with options required. I did discover after the fact that my XBox Live profile was stored on the old system's memory card. So I had to fire up the old machine again and copy it to a USB stick. After that, my new XBox was up and running smoothly. Just a tip before disassembling your old machine!
As other reviewers have mentioned the plastic drive case is a bit on the flimsy side. But if you're more delicate than your average chimpanzee, you should be fine. Once it's installed it doesn't move one bit.
