Decent kit. Included optics is disappointing., February 22, 2008
This review is from: 25PC ULTIMATE ACCESSORY PACKAGE FOR CANON HDV HV20 HG10 (Electronics)
I purchased this kit for Canon HG10 digital HDD camcorder. I opted for this 25 PC kit over the
10 Piece Best Buy Accessory Kit for CANON HG10 / HV20 kit because of the following additional items:
* 2X telephoto lens
* 0.5X Extra wide angle lens (is there wide angle lens, and then an "extra" wide angle lens?)
* 5 MiniDV Panasonic DVM60EJ cassettes
* 1 Digital Concepts MiniDV Cleaning cassette DVC-CK (does not need cleaning fluid)
* 3 filters (instead of only 1 in
10 Piece Best Buy Accessory Kit for CANON HG10 / HV20)
* Carrying case for the tripod
What i recieved in the kit:
* Battery Li-ion 7.4v 1800 mAh by Digital Concepts(BP-4LCL-C)
* Telephoto and Wide angle lenses by Digital Concepts (KIT-1337R)
* Filters - 3 Pc 37mm Filter set by Merkury Optics (MI-37FK)
* Rapid travel charger by Digital Concepts (CH-2L)
* SD Card reader by Digital Concepts (SD-35)
* Mini Tripod by Digital Concepts (TR-023)
* 5 Pc Lens Cleaning Kit by Digital Concepts (LCK-5S)
* 1 GB micro SD card with SD adapter by Digital Film (no model #)
* Digital Camera Bag by Digital Concepts (DV-92)
* 50 inch Tripod by Digital Concepts (TR10)
* 5 MiniDV cassettes by Panasonic (DVM60EJ)
* Digital Concepts MiniDV Cleaning cassette (DVC-CK)
What was good about the vendor:
* Fast shipping. Good packaging.
What bugged me about this kit:
* I wish they had mentioned the exact models and manufacturers of included items. For example, I would have appreciated information about voltage, mAh and battery code instead of generic "5 hour battery".
* HG10 camcorder's lens attachment size is 43mm. All the filters and lenses u get in this kit are for 37mm. There is a 43mm-37mm adapter included with the telephoto lens kit. Problems
- At 1x zoom, you can see attached lens' edges in you view. It is especially bad with the telephoto lens. It looks as if you are looking thru a pipe.
- The 43mm-37mm adapter does not have friction grooves on it so it is not easy to remove.
- I have noticed that camcorder's auto focussing takes considerably longer when you attach lenses or filters.
Overall, i am disappointed with the lenses in the kit. Rest of the kit is decent. I would give it 3.5/5.

Disappointed with this product, April 6, 2008
This review is from: 25PC ULTIMATE ACCESSORY PACKAGE FOR CANON HDV HV20 HG10 (Electronics)
I purchased this kit for my Canon hg10 camcorder. I am disappointed with several of the items in the kit. The HG10 uses 43mm lenses. The filter lenses, wide angle lens and the telephoto lans are all 37mm. therefore I have to use an adapter. The Mini SD memory card is defective, it does not work. The kit also contains five mini video cassettes and a DVC head cleaner. These last two items are not compatible with my HG10. I have tried to contact the vender regarding an exchange of these items, but, I have had no success. Henri K. Wellesley Hills

For $100 you cant expect too much......, August 19, 2008
This review is from: 25PC ULTIMATE ACCESSORY PACKAGE FOR CANON HDV HV20 HG10 (Electronics)
Received this today - as expected the components arent exactly top notch, but for the money its a useful kit. The lenses and filters are not bad, altho it would have been nice to know they would only fit with a step down converter. (The camera has a 43mm thread, the lenses are 37mm - converter provided tho). The tripod is pretty flimsy but will do the job for any amateur looking for a touch more stability in their shots.
Battery works altho I am yet to test how long it lasts. Charger is good, Mini SD card and card reader all good too.
Bag is a lot smaller than it appears on the photos, but is just about big enough to hold the camera. Wont be able to fit lenses etc in as well tho, so I'm a little disappointed with that.
All in all, not a bad purchase. Like I say, for $100 its not fair to expect pro-grade equipment.
Seller good too - accidental overcharge on shipping which was rectified immediately. Good communication too.
Update: The lenses are junk. The wide angle vignettes horrendously and the telephoto produces a strange blurring effect. Kind of a cool effect, but not what i was looking for when shooting something far away. Overall, this kit really is not worth the money. The fact the lenses need a step down converter to make them fit is not good.
