The construction quality on this is very good, and it will work very well for what it is designed to do. However, it is *NOT* designed to take a *STEREO* output from the computer, so forget about using this with any stereo headset. The female end only has three connections, one for ground, one for mic and one for mono sound.

The product would be great if it were the right size for today's headphones. The description is very vague.

This product has a 2.5mm female socket. It was a size used in old mobile phones and Blackberry smart phones. Modern smart phones like iPhones and Android models use a 3.5mm jack that will not work with this adapter.

I bought this product to use with my stereo iPhone headset, but it does not work for two reasons: It is a 2.5mm connector, not a 3.5 mm connector, and it is not stereo. These two specs should have been clearly spelled out on the product description. I am very disappointed.

I got this to use my ipod touch headphones with my laptop. But this adapter is for the Nokia style headphones so until I get a new adapter I can't use this item.

I bought this to use the Xbox Live headset I had laying around with Skype on my laptop.

To clarify, this will work with any 'old' style (2.5mm) cell phone headset/mic combo. Most new phones take the standard 3.5mm now days.

Works great with Skype and saved me $10-$30 for a headset, since I had the one that came with my Xbox lying around.

As a side note, Skype is significantly better with a headset. I would imagine that goes for any VoIP software also.

This product is just wrong! I bought it to be able to use the headset from my ipod touch (with mic) with my laptop for skype. I thought from the picture that the female plug (receiving) was for a standard 3.5 mm plug but it turned out to be for 2.5 mm plug (smaller one used in old cell phones) so I was frustrated from day 1. Afterwards I found an adapter form 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm and I intended to use it only to find out that the sound would only come to my left channel, and the mic won't work at all...

I found out that even when the male plugs are stereo, the cable used is for mono sound systems so it would only get one audio channel.

Overall this adapter was useless for me and I do not recommend it.

This converter is perfect for allowing me to use my phone headset (Skull Candy Buds) with my PC for gaming. Works to just seperate the mic if you want you sound to still go through your speakers.

I have a Logitech Xbox 360 Headset with a Cell phone audio plug. This successfully converted the connection so that I can connect it to my PC.

100% happy with my purchase.

I use a headset for talking on the land-line phone that plugs into any portable phone (2.8GHz, 5.6GHz, 6.0GHz DECT). It makes my voice so much clearer to others, and it lets me take notes while I'm on the phone. This device has the dual purpose of letting me use the same headset for VOIP computer-based calls (Google Voice, etc.).
