Hearing aid compatible and with a fully adjustable volume control, this headset is accompanied by a small dialer box which includes a convenient belt clip and a backlit, three-line LCD. With subscription to local service, this screen provides access to caller ID with call waiting information and to a 40-station memory that allows you to store, delete, and return calls instantly.

Operating with a 900 MHz frequency and 40-channel analog transmission, the phone continuously scans to provide you with a crystal clear connection. Additional features include 10-station speed dial, flash, hold, and one-touch redial; a paging locator is also included, in case the headset ends up hidden in the couch cushions. My old GE cordless headset phone is on its last legs, so I went over to Best Buy to get this one as a replacement. I hooked it up, charged it up, stored my frequently-used numbers and was all ready to enjoy the phone. . . until I noticed that there's no mute button. I looked through the documentation then looked again, searched the web and called "customer service" (warning: if you want to talk to a live person, you will have to make a toll call). No luck: no mute feature.

Who was the Einstein who designed this phone with no mute button? I'm a telecommuter who sits in conference calls for too many hours a week, and without a mute button this phone is useless to me. I'm taking it back immediately.

purchased this phone and the only thing I use any longer is the headset. The phone beeps (actually shreiks) intermittently. No interference, no rhyme or reason. Called support and after the typical maze of routing, they suggested I buy another battery which cost more than the phone, yet both were <90 days old. Garbage product with a GE label, made and suppoorted (not) by some unheard of firm.

I also got this to replace the GE 2-9917A, whic I loved. I was happy to see that the headset was removable from the porable receiver, since I've had to replace the GE 2-9917A twice when the plastic head-holding bit broke. A bit disappointing that I can't find anyplace to replace the headset with the same model.

My biggest complaint is the amount of digital-sounding interference I get with this phone. Even when I'm 3-feet away from the base station, I get terrible buzzing, like a fax or modem signal. This started before I got a WiFi network at the office. This comes through at both ends (I get complaints from people I speak with) and happens about 80% of the time.

I also have a unit at home, where I wasn't having the problem until I had to replace the headset (with a much flimisier GE model that I found where I bouthg the phone) and now it buzzes like hell too.

I'm going to look for the older model to see if I can find it anywhere. I also think the lack of a second battery and spot to charge it is a silly omission. Overall the older model was a much better product.
