Undulate one's head with Gregor Samsa,
By tani P. (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 27:36 (Audio CD)
Soft oceanic soundscapes wash over oneself while listening to this album. This music will transport you to parts unknown. Gregor Samsa's music can be said to be in the same vein as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mogwai, etc. However, this album is softer and slower than your average GYBE release. There are parts in the indie style, especially toward the end of the disc, which all the tracks seem to lead up to. The result is incredibly relaxing sonics without producing boredom. If you value unconventional structures of music purchase this album immediately. My only gripe is that it's a bit on the short side, 27 minutes and 36 seconds to be exact, I guess I'm the fool there! Anyway, the music is wonderful, beautiful, meditative, transportive and emotionally evocative. The packaging is interesting as well, just don't expect a lot of band information. Overall a time (and money) worthy work of art, musical and otherwise. Enjoi.

Beautifuly haunting melodies mixed w/ wonderful lyrics and vocals. Lovely on the ears. Adjectives that accurately describe include: sweet; serene; entrancing; ethereal; absorbing; otherworldly; mesmeric; and winsome.
