4.0 out of 5 stars Just a question
The soundtrack is okay but i was a bit disappointed when i realized that one the of the better songs used in the movie wasnt on the soundtrack. Im not sure of the name or who it is by, but it is the song that is played after sandras characters room-mate O.D.'ed, if anyone knows who it is by or what it is called please let me know,

thanks in advance :)...

2.0 out of 5 stars Best Song Omitted
I agree with some of the other customer reviews, that the best song is omitted in it's full form from the soundtrack, although it is listed as part of a medley on Track 14. One reviewer asked for the title and artist of the song. The song title is "Dreaming" by Loudon Wainwright III. This song is on his albums "Golden Slumbers: A Father's Love" and "So Damn Happy."...

2.0 out of 5 stars Best Song Omitted, August 9, 2005

I agree with some of the other customer reviews, that the best song is omitted in it's full form from the soundtrack, although it is listed as part of a medley on Track 14. One reviewer asked for the title and artist of the song. The song title is "Dreaming" by Loudon Wainwright III. This song is on his albums "Golden Slumbers: A Father's Love" and "So Damn Happy." Here are the lyrics to the song:

I'd rather be dreaming than living
Living's just too hard to do
It's chances not choices
Noises not voices
A day's just a thing to get through
Living's just too hard to do

I'd rather be dreaming than talking
There's nothing to hear or to say
With ears covered mouth closed
The world is opposed
Nothing gets in or away
There's nothing to hear or to say

I'd rather be dreaming than thinking
Thoughts are small comfort to me
Dreams might be pretend
But at least dreams end
And I just can't stop thinking you see
Thoughts are small comfort to me

I'd rather be dreaming than sleeping
Just sleeping you're just as well dead
In dreams I can fly
In dreams I don't die
That's why I lie here in this bed
Just sleeping you're just as well dead

I'd rather be dreaming

Anyone with a love for the movie will find this typical and reminiscent however, it's short with no surprises. Not really worth the money unless you are a die hard fan of the movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sandra Bullock Photos & Great Music, What More Do You Need?, September 5, 2003

This is a fairly interesting album. The majority of tracks are purely instrumental but are far from boring. They are extremely exciting numbers. A Dingo Stole My Baby and A Way to Die are my two favourites. You've also got Joy to the World (the song with the lyrics Jeramiah was a Bullfrog) and some humorous tracks such as The Drinking Song. I never noticed the great songs while watching the actual movie but when I borrowed this CD I discovered music magic. The cover booklet also has a few black and white photographs on the inside from the movie and colour ones of Sandra and scenes from the movie on the outside as well as on the backing cover for the CD.

I ordered this soundtrack for the Loudon Wainwright tunes, particularly White Whinos, and am disappointed that the instrumental tracks from the movie are mixed in with the vocal tracks. I prefer soundtracks that put all of the instrumental music at the end so I don't have to bother programming my player to skip those tracks. Not that the instrumental isn't good--it just doesn't flow very well. I am very pleased with the Wainwright ditties!

3.0 out of 5 stars Dreaming, January 25, 2011
This review is from: 28 Days: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2000 Film) (Audio CD)
"Dreaming" by Loudon Wainwright III can also be found on his album entitled Grown Man. It can be downloaded in MP3 format here at Amazon. From the sample, it appears to be the same version used in the movie 28 Days.

This CD has one of the best compilation for the 28 days movie, it reflects exactly the emotion felt when I watched the Movie.
