Book Description

What if you could improve years of late habits in just 28 days?

This person thinks you can:

“I’m notorious for being late so this book was a great find for me! As a Mom of two children under two, I don’t have much time to sit down and relax, much less read a book. However this book was addicting and I couldn’t put it down. Davonne’s personal stories make you feel like you really know and can relate to her. The book gives you a goal at the end of each chapter which is something that you can work on one day at a time until you too become a ‘Semi-Reformed Late Person.’” Lara Rodriguez

MY STORY:

I started working on becoming more timely a few years ago and decided that if I could ever figure out how to be on time, I’d write a book about it. I’ve learned what makes late people late, I’ve talked with many timely people to discover their tips and tricks to being on time, and I have made significant progress in my own journey towards timeliness.

I took my own experiences and the lessons I learned, and I condensed them down into 28 short, easy-to-read segments that take just a few minutes to go over each day. The beginning of each segment contains an inspirational quote, and included at the end of every chapter is a practical course of action that can be taken to really initiate the discipline of being on time.

"28 Days to Timeliness" is also sprinkled throughout with confessions from my own life to help show how much I get it – being on time is tough!

WITH HELP FROM THIS EBOOK, YOU'LL SOON BE ABLE TO:

~Learn the real reasons people are late (and it’s not because of the traffic!).

READER TESTIMONIALS:

“Davonne and I might as well be two peas in a pod. She gets me. I laughed at her stories (I even shared her hilarious wearing PJs to church story with my husband — who thought it was so funny that he shared it at a recent family gathering!). I nodded my head in agreement with so many of her points. And I picked up new practical ideas for overcoming lateness.” Crystal Paine, Money Saving Mom

“As a mother and wife who works full time outside of the home, life for me can get extremely hectic. I found this book to be a breath of fresh air in my chaotic life. The author’s realistic approach to getting organized is one that even the busiest person can stick to. Openly sharing her own experiences during her reform makes this book not only educational but extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend this fantastic read and I am excited to start putting her tips into practice.” Crystal Hogsten

“Over the years I have read many books on timeliness, organization, and multiple other self-help books. This fresh new look on the topic of timeliness was just what I needed!” Tina Dawn

“As a very timely person, I really enjoyed this book. I love the story of wearing PJs to church! Although I am rarely late, I really benefited from this book. I appreciated what Davonne had to say about why late people are late. I love that she didn’t offer excuses for her lateness, but rather took responsibility for it and committed to work on that. I think her advice is great, even for us timely folks. Most of all, her book helped me to understand my late friends and to give them more grace and encouragement.” Lisa Grimenstein

5.0 out of 5 stars Benefits late people & prompt people! October 26, 2012
By Helysa
Format:Kindle Edition
Sometimes I'm late, sometimes I'm not. When I'm late, sometimes it's my fault, often it isn't. I love how this book explored the reasons why people are late, a lot I'd never thought about before, but I realized it's true. I love how it motivated you to explore the heart issues of why you're late to certain things, once again something I'd never thought about but realized was true. It covers what to do about the things that make you late, whether that's because of yourself or because of others. The advice is practical, easy, and doable. The changes it challenges you to make aren't overwhelming but simple tasks that can make such a difference in our lives. Whether you consider yourself a chronically late person or a prompt person, this book has great tips for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Practical Tips October 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Thoroughly enjoyed this book about Timeliness. I didn't even think I had a problem with being on time to places, but I found all sorts of great tips to use in my daily life. Definitely not just for people who think of themselves as "late"! There is definitely something for every mom to help her day run more smoothly and efficiently. I don't want to ruin any of the tips by revealing them (you really should read the book yourself), but my favorites were the tips for getting out of the door with everything you need and on motivating a late family. She also offers lots of support and tips on finding support in your own life. The citations to other books, articles and websites were also much appreciated and offer lots of more in depth reading on specific topics. Which leads to one of the greatest things about this book - its length! It is very accessible and was easy to read in just two days. I didn't keep to the 28 day timeline, but you could with no problems if that is your goal!

I also loved the quotes at the beginning of each section! They were right on point and so much fun. Worth reading the book just for these. Everyone from William Shakespeare to Lemony Snicket - a highlight!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Timely Males Viewpoint September 30, 2012
By Paul
Format:Kindle Edition
My wife is a late person and I am an early person. I've always felt that being on time is being late. My wife is a wonderful and kind person that I love deeply in spite of her being a late person.

I read this book since I wanted to better understand my wife's spirit of lateness. In 28 Days to Timeliness, Davonne explains the psyche of the late person and presents many practical strategies that I can use to help my wife in a supportive and nurturing manner.

I read this book in less than two hours. Maybe one of the ways I can help my wife is to say, "Honey, why don't you take a few hours and read this cute little book I found." Of course, she'll probably suggest a stack of large self-improvement books that I should read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perspective from a "timely" person September 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I am typically always on time, however I have friends who are typically late. I read this book hoping to gain some perspective to better understand my late friends. The author shares her own life experiences with being a late person. She shares the hurt she feels when people criticize her, she also shares her struggles with being late and what she has done to improve her tardiness. I walked away from this book feeling I better understand why people struggle with being on time, and how to better relate with my friends who may have a problem with timeliness. I also gained some new tips on how to get out the door a little easier with small children. I think everyone can find something to gain from this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Insightful Book by a Great New Author! September 30, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
28 Days to Timeliness is a great book for anyone who struggles with being late, as I do, or for anyone who would like to understand why people in their life are always late. There truly can be "heart issues" as the writer talks about, as to why people tend to be late. Davonne Parks looks at the positive traits of late people and gives great remedies for becoming a person who arrives on time.

This book is insightful, clear, helpful, humorous, easy and fun to read! Davonne shares from her life experiences of being a late person, and they are inspirational, relevant, and in some instances quite humorous! The quotes before each chapter are a nice touch. 28 Days to Timeliness is on my top 10 best books list that I have ever read! I can't wait to read more from this new author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful! January 14, 2013
By Phebe
Format:Kindle Edition
I've never reviewed a book as "beautiful" but that's my sincere thought after reading it. I felt like the person talking to me actually loved and cared about me, as opposed to feeling lectured. Also, when I finally arrived on time to my art class, for which I AM ALWAYS LATE, I felt encouraged to continue trying. I am thankful for this book and its author.
