Learn a lot from several writers in one place, and support Reglue at the same time!

This book is 29 days of blog posts written by different bloggers and authors. I am a reader, not a writer. I had no idea there was so much involved in writing fantasy novels. Mr. Knight has gotten a lot of information into 29 easy to read blog posts.

It is a celebration of how awesome fantasy really is. I learned a lot reading this book. I learned how difficult building a fantasy world can be. I learned that fantasy authors can build a new language for their book. I learned that sometimes, things are carried through many different books by many different authors (think dragons, elves, dwarfs). I did not find every chapter interesting, but there were many that I really enjoyed.

Even if I did not read this book, I would have bought it. The proceeds from this book are donated to Reglue, a charity that strives to give computers to children in need. These computers are given, setup, and the children taught to use them completely free of charge.

I could recommend this book to anyone interested in writing fantasy stories. I would also say it is great for the science fiction writer. It is a great read for the reader, too. I think it could be used as a reference book, for the aspiring writer. It also helps a charity! What a book!

The author has written several other books. I will be picking up a couple of those, after reading this celebration.

I have to be upfront and let you know that I have an excerpt from my upcoming book in this anthology.

29 Days of Fantasy has stories and articles from a wide variety of authors about fantasy as a genre or aspects of writing fantasy. It's an entertaining anthology put together by Thomas A. Knight, author of The Time Weaver. My contribution to this work is an excerpt from the first book (still a work-in-progress) of the Dragonborn series.

I enjoyed Lorna Suzuki's article titled, Weaving Reality Into Fantasy. It is a moving piece which shares a lot about her background. Thomas also wrote a piece titled, The Might of Dragons, a favorite of mine since I love dragons.

This anthology will probably be most appreciated by other authors, aspiring authors, or readers who enjoys genre discussions.

More About the Author

Thomas A. Knight built a career out of software development and took up writing in his spare time. Since then, he has released two books and is in the process of writing a third. His novels are epic fantasies set in Galadir, an alternate world of his own design.

His debut novel, The Time Weaver, is the recipient of an indiePENdents Seal of Good Writing, has reached both the Sci-Fi/Adventure and Epic Fantasy Amazon best-seller lists, and is considered by many to be an exciting and unique story that appeals to readers of all types.

When he's not writing or developing software, Thomas enjoys family time with his wife and two little girls, or playing fantasy role-playing games. He is also an avid supporter of Free and Open Source software, and uses entirely Linux and open source software in the writing and production of his novels.
