Another one being used to set pinion bearing preload... works great. I calibrated at work (using NIST traceable masters) and it was right on, as expected. After all beam deflection is very predictable.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He needed a fine instrument to set up the rear differential in the vehicles that he fixes. It was perfect and it worked perfect. Great deal and best of all...it was made in the USA!!!

Purchased to use when working on my competition benchrest rifles. Happy with it and compact enough to fit in my travel tool case.

This thing works great as it is accurate and consistent. One review downgraded the tool because the pointer was not at zero. This is a "Beam" type Torque Wrench so all you have to do is flex the pointer slightly until it rests where you want it. During operation only the bottom Beam flexes moving the scale and the pointer does not move. If you need an accurate torque wrench for small parts buy this one and it will serve you well for many years to come.

I never even knew of an in. lb.- type torque wrench until an aviation-quality windshield called for it on my vehicle. This wrench came in short order via Amazon and it is a wonderfully simple design. It's ability to zeroed by the user by setting the needle to zero each and every time before use underscores this simplicity. These days, I look for U.S. made products and it's quality and price make it a no-brainer to purchase. I am sure many more uses are ahead now that I have entered the inch-pound realm.

Seems to be a good USA made tool. Have used it a few times and am very satisfied with it and the price. Good value substitute for the expensive click type wrenches for the do it your selfer.

The nice thing about beam wrenches is they generally do not have to be calibrated frequently. This one seems to be made pretty well despite the low price, and it's easy enough to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beam torque wrench, March 2, 2009
Low in-lb torque wrench, good quality, and very fast shipping.
I used it for measuring the rotating torque when rebuilding a car differential.

The wrench was delivered on time and was packaged well. Good tool, good quality, the indicator is easy to read and the tool can be calibrated easily if the needle is not perfectly centered on zero. I needed this to check the pinion preload on my rear differential and because the pinion nut was 1-1/8" I had to use several socket adapters to be able to go from the 1/4" drive on the wrench to the 1/2" drive on the socket. Get yourself an adapter set if you plan on using this on large nuts.
