Poor quality, nice design,

The quality of the items is poor. Despite the price it is cheap laminated fiber with a poorly applied paper/plastic decor layer. The decor is not smooth on the edges but has a seam that sticks out - poor application of the decor layer. We bought 2 of this one and 2 of the other type. All pieces have splinters and dents in the decor on the side and back edges of the shelves. This seems to be both from packaged-disassembled-design as well as poor manufacturing.
We considered for several days asking for a refund. But as this would take time to get them picked up and we could not find a similar design to blend in with our existing furniture ... We finally decided to keep it. I'm still annoyed though. It is NOT worth the money. If the manufacturing quality was strongly improved it would be a nice thing. With real wood boards or real wood veneer it would be great. But like this? Stay away. |
