5.0 out of 5 stars 2PAC SHAKUR, THE MAN, THE RAPPER, THE GOD!, January 2, 2000
By
AIR'N JOHNSON (SPRINGFIELD,OHIO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
THIS ALBUM IS THE ILLEST! TUPAC WAS AND STILL IS THE GREATEST RAPPER OF ALL TIME, NO ONE WILL EVER COMPARE TO HIM. THIS IS A COMBINATION OF VARIOUS SONGS FROM THE LATE TUPAC SHAKUR. YOU GET A LITTLE OF ALL OF HIS ALBUMS IN ONE GREAT PACKAGE. I THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE ANOTHER GREATEST HITS FROM TUPAC, A VOLUME 2 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT,BUT NEVER THE LESS THIS CD IS ILL. ALL TUPAC FANS SHOULD GO GET IT.THESE ARE SOME OF THE ILLEST SONGS EVER RELEASED INCLUDING THE PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED "TROUBLESOME" AND "GOD BLESS THE DEAD". TUPAC DIED FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13,1995, SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE NOTORIOUS ONE DIED IN MARCH. SO IT IS PRETTY MYSTERIOUS THAT TUPAC WROTE A SONG ABOUT BIG'S DEATH. IN MAKAVELI'S OWN WORDS"WHEN YOU DIE, BE A MAN AND PICK THE WAY YOU LEAVE." I THINK HE PREDICTED HIS DEATH AND ACCEPTED IT. R.I.P. TUPAC SHAKUR.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best rap CD of all time, April 1, 2000

Tupac Shakur was probably one of the best rappers ever to bealive, and the best of his music is showcased in this great 2 CDalbum. It's too hard to comment on every song, but I can easily say that this is the best piece of music that I have ever heard. I will definately buy it! This double CD is a MUST for all rap lovers, and probably even most music lovers general.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tupac always did hit em up, October 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
This was a GREAT CD, the best rap CD ever, I know what a lot of you are probably thinking, rap is crap, well, not this one, you can be the biggest rap hater ever, and still love this CD. Damn, it's a shame though, the state rap is in today, ever since Biggie and Tupac died, all we got is that fake ass Puffy, oh well, Life Goes on (lol)

Best song on the album are: Hit em up, Dear Mama, 2 of americas most wanted, Changes, Hail Mary, All about U, Life Goes On, How Long Will They Mourn Me?, and Troublesome

5.0 out of 5 stars this album is the best of 98', April 4, 1999

Tupac Shakur is a remarkable person. He has had alot of albums and its a shame tupac is dead. But I am glad to see that his mother Afeni, has put to together some of his best songs. I think that Afeni should have put more unrealeased music on that greatist hits cd cuz of bootleging. There is a webstie selling Makaveli 23456789 for 108 dollars in total and selling other bootleg tupac merchandise as well. I think it is wrong and the money should be going to tupac's estate not some person off the street that didn't even know tupac.

5.0 out of 5 stars IF u dont have this ur wack, July 16, 2003
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
this album portrays the greatest rapper or artists songs. If you look through any tupac album review you will notice no one gives it lower then a 4. And most give it a five. If you see any one give it a 3,2,1 it just means theyre wack. So what we are witnessing when we listen to this album is the best of the best. This album makes any other rap artist ( with the exception of big pun, biggie small, big L, KRS-1, DMX)look like a pop star. THere isnt a weak track in this whole album. I couldnt pick a favourite song. All the hits of the tupac are in here you would be wack not to buy this album. I did the review for the edited album just to show that any infant who wants to listen to this album will greatly appreciate it. It has positive songs such as: keep your head up, dear mama, unconditional love, life goes on, to live and die in L.A. An also its negative songs with hitemup standing out. I think there are other great songs that should be put in this album such as wonder if heaven got a ghetto, friends, my block (remix) but the fact is you cannot fit all his greatest hits into one album. This guy IS the rap game.

5.0 out of 5 stars TIMELESS MUSIC FOR EVERYBODY, June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
The only sad thing about this album is all the commercial songs that contains. I mean, where is songs like "If I die 2nite", "Holler if ya hear me", Lord knows & "Tradin war stories". These among other more raw songs should be on 2pac's greatest hits. I'm not saying I dislike the album, all songs except "Changes" & "California Love" are great. 2pac made music for everybody. It's sad that many people just categorize every rapartist in the category where all they talkin about is money, gangbangin, guns etc. No matter who you are and where you live, Tupac can touch everyone with his according to me best lyrics ever written. Almoust three years has gone by since the tragic day, 13th of september, and still no one has been close to be compared with Tupac. Sorry DMX.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tupac will always live on - in mind and spirit..........., April 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
Tupac rapped some of the best music I've ever heard, his lyrics focused a lot on the rise that he took from the gutter, from being a nobody - but he also tells us that it was his home and he wants to help those that are there now because he knows what the struggle was like, his songs aren't just about music, they run reallly deep and that's what made him the best.......My favourite song by Tupac is Changes...... Tupac, you are the greatest, may you rest in peace.........and your music will always influence us.....

5.0 out of 5 stars One song missing-Pour Out A Little Liquor Remix!ThuG Life, April 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 2Pac - Greatest Hits [Edited Version] (Audio CD)
Tu Pac, the greatest rapper ever, could never have a wack CD even if you compiled his worst songs. My favorite song, rapped by Tu Pac,on a ThuG Life single, "Pour Out A Little Liquor" (MaDukey Remix)was missing and made the album incomplete. Check it out at the record store. You'll love it.
