My modem quit working and I had to buy the entire new unit for about $100. Once I got home, I found that it was only the power supply cord that was bad but my internet provider did not sell just the power supply cord. So I went to Amazon and found just what I needed for just under $20. Thank you Amazon for the savings. The cord works great

We were ready to replace the 2Wire 2701 when it simply stopped working - the red "power" light was glowing instead of the usual green. As the unit it was just a year old, we called AT&T, who said there was nothing they could do. They did, however, offer to send another modem or a replacement cord - for their usual full prices, of course.

After reading some reviews about both the unit and the replacement cord, we discovered this was a common problem. Since it was the easiest and least expensive solution, we decided to try it. We received the cord within a day, and once the old cord was swapped for the new, everything worked again. Much thanks for the various reviews and info, as we probably would have gone out to buy a new modem had we not read what others had to say.

I'm looking for this adapter for a while and finally get it from here.
Delivery is fast and accurate.

Well you can get the same one from AT&T online store for $10 + shipping, and the total price is higher than here.

The part is very well hidden on the website so here's how to get there:
go to [...] on the right side find "OUTFIT YOUR HOME NETWORK" and select "LEARN MORE"; this will take you to the DSL EQUIPMENT page, scroll down about 2/3 the page and you will see it for $10 plus tax....now if only the ATT rep had told me I could have replaced the power cord on my 6 year old 2wire modem for $10 instead of having to buy a new (PACE) modem kit ($100)....It's all about the $$$...hope this saves somebody some $$

Any time you see 2wire router that fails and have the power red light on, most likely is the power supply and not the router itself

I ordered three units. All three would not power the modem. I tried the two good power supplies that I had in stock and the two that I had worked fine. Voltage tests low on this product. Caution!!!

This is my 2nd AT&T 2wire modem in less than 3 years. After doing some reading I found that my 2nd 2wire had a bad power supply. I order this power supply replacement on a Friday, and received it Saturday. I plugged it in, and the modem powered up, and everything was back to normal. Sunday however was a different story, the modem once again had no power, and was dead. These 2wire modems are not worth the trouble, and downtime they create. Anyone doing any research will find that these AT&T 2wire modems/power supplies have a very high failure rate. How they can continue to sell such a horrible product is beside me. I have choose to purchase a non AT&T modem and end this madness.

To be without internet service is very traumatic, to say the least. I contacted my provider and was told that I needed a new modem and would be charged ten dollars a month for ten months on my bill. Never did they suggest that the power cord could have gone bad. I did some digging and found that this is quite common with the 2WIRE modem. I found the cord very quickly and ordered it with ease. It came in about 3 days and solved my problem. It doesn't get any easier or better than that. Amazon rocks!
