Short Answer: It's nice. It works as advertised. I recommend it.

Longer Answer: I bought the Men's Large PWX Compression Top Long Sleeve in Black/Steel. This was the second piece of compression gear that I purchased. I bought my first piece at my local running store, a new business. My local running store did not carry the compression tops at all. While I was waiting for the replacement tights to arrive at the store (I needed the Tall version), I decided to buy this top here online at Amazon to avoid that wait. I had gone to the gym the week before and was using some different weight training equipment for the first time, and maybe a little too enthusiastically, so my arms, upper back, shoulders and chest were still a bit sore from the effort. As with the tights, once you have the compression gear on your skin surface immediately starts to feel cool, especially when you walk around the house and the air is moving around you; it's slightly less noticeable when you are sitting still.

The X-Form model of the 2XU tights are suitable for active use, and post activity recovery, or both. So now that I had a complete set I decided to try wearing them during a race, and not just post run. I ran in the inaugural San Jose 408K Race to the Row 8K race on March 11, 2012 (Google it, external links are discouraged), and I believe the 2XU gear helped keep my muscles stable. The top definitely felt like it was encouraging a more upright posture so I wasn't bending over or sagging during the run, or after. I had noticed during recent training runs that my forearms and hands were cramping a bit from trying to keep them in a flat bladed position. The shirt helped minimize that. The seams are flat and did not cause me any discomfort during my races.

I have numerous compression garmets from Nike, UA, 511, C9, etc..... they range from summer type thin stuff to winter fleece lined apparel. I also have 2XU socks and arm sleeves. That being said, this is an OK garment with a few short comings and is overpriced at msrp.

Material wise I was hoping it would match up to the socks and sleeves which are not the silky smooth compression gear but rather a thicker and more normal feeling fabric that really compresses well. This shirt is instead that silky material, just much denser than an under armour or pro combat shirt. I'd estimate maybe double the weight. Similar to some 511 stuff I have gotten previously. Build quality is very good. No argument from me either in that it does provide better compression qualities due to the density, I just won't say it does so at a price point triple or so those shirts normal UA or pro combat shirts do.

Fit wise the shirt also had some issues for me. I am 6'3" 210-215ish with an athletic muscular build. 44" chest 34" waist. I had read an online review from someone offering basically the same height/ weight/build as myself having arm fit issues with the XL and L, where he said the arms felt to tight and the same in both, where as the torso really got loose in the XL. I went with the XXL as it was half off and I have always gotten by in either XL or XXL compression stuff. I found the arms to be tight but inline with my expectations, ditto for shoulders, and chest. You take that area and I am very happy. Torso is loose, but to me acceptable and was anticipated as I did order an XXL, but still much looser than an XXL in any other brand I have tried. It had little if any compression properties where as the upper was very tight. The arms and chest for me felt like an XL fit with the body more of an XXXL.

Great product. I've worn 2xu and Skins and would stick with 2xu from now on. It seems more durable. I've had issues with the elastic band on a skins top.

I love these Compression shirts. The one thing to be aware of, don't expect this to keep you warm. In fact expect the opposite. I was wearing this underneath a t-shirt in winter figuring it would keep me warm, but I ended up shivering cause this was keeping me cool. The wind felt like it ran right through it.

I purchased this 2XU compression shirt solely based on a reccomendation by a coworker who competes in triathlons. And I'm glad he did. I've only worn it for a short period time for recovery but have noticed a difference in my workouts. The shirt is of high quality material and stitching. Highly recommend.

Good product, size was correct, did not like the high collared neck it feels restrictive.. I would recommend the "Skins" product over 2XU.

First off...Im giving 5 stars because of the design quality of this garment even though the sizing upset me. The torso section is the part that primarily changes with the garment and the arms do not scale quite the same as like UA and Nike etc (though even they have their troubles) but much leaner style. The XL was a tiny bit loose around midsection but my arms were to tight for the sleeves, the Large was the same way just tighter around the core but the arms were much the same(to small). In defense of the sizing I think its the sport or body type that is the issue here. A lean soccer player, runner, swimmer etc would likely be much better off depending on upper body development.

Again great product just my two cents is if you have a pretty developed upper body and through arms just be careful

sizing note I'm about 220 @ 6'2" - waist about 31" and the XL was slightly loose but the L was spot on for lower core.

    Good luck train hard.
