This is a very good CD, you want find many CD's of today of this caliber. I still remember the songs as if I had just heard it yesterday. I think my favorites off this CD are Can We Spend Sometime Together and Closer than just friends. All of these songs are "tight" with the exception of Black Shades and Where's that girl. Overall it is a good CD and worth adding to your collection.

Been a Surface fan from the beginning. Had the cassette for this years ago, lost it, and finally got the cd. The three guy set that includes lead singer/musician Bernard Jackson, and multi-musicians David "Pic" Conley and the late David Townsend has always worked well together producing timeless ballads, slow jams, and slower grooves. You get a good supply of that here, but this cd lacks what their other two lacked, a few dance floor jams that really pop. Namely Black Shades, Hold On To Love, & slamming I Missed. All the fast songs have a New Jack Swing vibe to them, probably because that style was huge around when this was made. Surface makes it work for them though. The classic Shower Me With Your Love still sounds fresh and great to this day. Add sensationals like Closer Than Friends, Can We Spend Some Time, and You Are My Everything, and you get a 8 song set that has no filler that you can play all the way through. Was saddened by the death of David Townsend years ago. RIP! Surface only made three albums, and this is their best all-around IMHO. The other two are great too, and I recommend them also. Bernard Jackson has continued to drop occasional Independent produced cd's here and there, and you can find them on this site also.

My boyfriend introduced me to Surface. I was skeptical at first, bit after listening to it for the first time I was like wow! I've been missin out!! It's definitly old School, which is OK, cuz I LOVE oldies :o). These guys have talent. Nothing fake like singers nowadays. I'm glad I bought this!! I rate it 10 stars!!!!

this is the best album surface made!!! took me back to a time in my life when there was great music with a message!!
